Saw a completely different Station ID at 1:58 PM EDT. There were Pine Trees on either side, a snow-trickled mountain in the background, and what looked like wheat(?) appearing at the bottom of the screen as the camera panned down.

That one's been in use since 2008, actually

:doublepost:

TWC apparently changes their long form shows every 3 months... because Ive noticed since this past week different shows are airing at the long form times
Right, they normally do it each quarter. In the past twcmediakit.com or press.weather.com (can't remember which one) have released each quarter's programming schedule. Not sure if they still do it anymore, however.

Eric Fisher during Weekend View sunday morning 9:30am EDT

"I love this, a Great musical collection The Weather Channel uses both on Local on the 8s and Programming"

Seems like both Jen and Eric liked dancing to Castor - Daft Punk in the morning (Song played before he mentioned above).

Was long-form on today at 5 PM CT (6 PM Eastern)? I was just able to get a very brief look of the TV at the National Weather Center, but it looked like the full-screen LOT8s was being used at like :08 or :18. :dunno: The NWC has the DirecTV app, so I got to see that too.

I haven't seen local on the 8's all evening. It's been the L bar ever since I've been watching at 9:58pm, even at the top and bottom of the hour..

I hope they didn't transition over to the L bar for good.. that would be the stupidest decision TWC has ever made..

The locals will be temporarily coming back during all live programming until they can fix a few things and send out an update. Then the squeezeback will return for :08/:18/:38/:48, and the locals will only play at :28/:58.

They are definitely heading in that direction.

Will the LDL and on screen graphics eventually be framed for the 16:9?

I wonder if by "fix a few things" they mean bugs and technical issues or changing the look and layout of the squeezeback a little.

I like hearing the locals at :08, :18, :38 and :48 again. The squeezeback makes a lot more sense during longform, IMO.

Agreed, but whoever in TWC saw the L-bar as an enhancement during live programming is totally wrong.

They already are on the HD feed.  I've heard rumors that the SD feed will eventually be letterboxed, so that all programming will be 16:9 no matter what feed is being watched.  How that will affect the SD Intellistar LDL or L-bar, however, I have no idea.

But these are just rumors, so they may or may not be true.

On the K flavors during WCL, the smaller version of the LOT8s bug from SW is being used.

24131 must have rebooted or 24130 took over, because its not supposed to be using them
