it was mentioned in the past SA was discontinued, which is why it hasn't been on in years.
We do not know for sure, because there has been no official conformation

Right. Plus, there has been no real reason to use it since 2008, either.

True, that's why I thought it was more of an assumption than it was proven to be a fact that it was discontinued.

TWC is now in Red Mode as of the start of WCL tonight.  Where TWC goes from here, who knows.

OK, so what is this "red mode"? How have they increased their coverage? :dunno: Is anything red that wasn't before?

I think he is talking about the Red LDL...which has been for about 4 days now...

I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but if SA ever commences (which I think should be tomorrow during WCL at latest), I don't think it's going to be as "exciting" as we once remember it to be. The only difference between SA and now we would be experiencing is an opener that says "Storm Alert" and SA music on the LF. The change from regular to alert mode won't be as drastic, considering they have already started using red L3rds, a red LDL, and pre-empted long form.

This whole "Weather Channel Social" is already getting annoying. I mean, yeah its nice.. but, whenever the average viewer wants information about storms, this is a little unnecessary.

It's gone beyond annoying, it's becoming overkill. Leave it to them to run something good into the ground. It bothers me more that they won't stop mentioning about their partnership with Twitter on this. Like, who cares?  :P

Anyway, DP is using the LF squeezeback instead of a local forecast.

I have a partnership with twitter.. its called an account.

But honestly, its completely unnecessary when viewers are looking to get useful hurricane information.

So...um...we are going full steam with no dedicated locals (just squeezebacks)?

Sadly that seems to be the case, looks like I'll have to watch Weatherscan when Irene comes up the coast.
