I am right there with you.  I am not a big fan of Brian Norcross.

But, I have to hand it to The Weather Channel.  I was more than impressed with their coverage of this severe weather/tornado outbreak.  Great RADAR updates, and great video showing what the RADAR was detecting.  And I cannot believe that Jeff Morrow and crew caught that tornado on camera, amazing.

I agree. I was certainly impressed with the coverage tonight, and the past few nights. Dr. Forbes has been nothing less than outstanding in his explanations and analysis of the radar images. Obviously he and Cantore make a great pairing, but as me mentioned above, Carl Parker and Forbes worked very well tonight. Forbes+Cantore+Parker paired together would be really nice to see in the future.

I'm amazed by their coverage tonight. Compared to what they've done in the past, this is outstanding. Maybe this event will set them straight in the future. All of the mets are doing a great job tonight, I'm a little surprised with Paul doing what Forbes and Carl did earlier. If anything TWC has earned my trust now.

So, he's a hurricane specialist in the summer/fall, and a storm specialist in the spring. Why not just call him a meteorologist like he his?

By the way, I think TWC did a great job handling the severe weather last night.

I think TWC learned their lesson after the whole Friday night movie debacle a few months ago.  Hopefully I did not speak too soon.  :hmm:

I remember last week TWC kept airing promos a dozen times an hour for a new episode of "From The Edge" that would've aired on Tuesday. They showed the promos up until Monday, even though TWC knew that a major tornado outbreak would start, and that "From The Edge" would most likely be pre-empted.

By the way, Monday was the last time I've seen any promos/LF openers for "From The Edge." Maybe I'm not paying attention.

IMO, that title should only apply to those who have doctorate degrees, and Norcross isn't one of them.

I disagree because thats like saying on local stations fire a weathercaster because they dont have a meteorology degree and or a medical reporter because they dont have an MD..

But Norcross does have a degree in meteorology. He does not however have any severe weather or hurricane realted degree. Therefore he isn't a "specialist."

Ah i see.. yeah.. and the factor on his debut that he was considered a hurricane specialist..

It's just TWC's way of acknowledging he has some "special" expert knowledge on hurricanes to make him look more important, but he wouldn't fit what I would consider a "specialist" in the field of Meteorology either.  Dr. Richard Knabb is the real "hurricane specialist" on TWC now.
