Why aren't they using the video wall anymore?

***Mike Siedel and Jeff Morrow on DP this morning.***

That's a pair you don't see every day, especially since Jeff made mention of how interesting it was.

Let's see how many more times people are going to ask about this damn video wall...

Is there something wrong with that? :dunno: I know it's annoying if people keep asking the same thing over and over, but I don't think we've gotten a straight answer from a reliable source yet about what the real deal is.

i highly doubt they're gonna stop using them just like that...they paid quite a lot of money for that unique feature, it's also suppose to be energy efficient.

if TWC was going to ax the video wall all together, why even spend the time and money installing it? not to mention, if they were to get rid of it, it would cost even more money to remove it.

They're not going to get rid of it. ;) Instead, it'll probably be used as a backdrop or top stories promoter or something like that. Something that I think a video wall SHOULD be used for.

I like the chroma key, but I also have gotten used to them using the video wall for so long now that the chroma key looks and feels awkward to me.

The same with me. I was watching TWC, and I was all worried about what happened to the video wall. But it's better though.

I don't care between the video wall or the chroma key anymore. I just want my forecast.

Has anyone besides me noticed that the LDL cues out faster now? I like that.

Yeah, I've noticed. Its okay, It just looks like it disappears instead of falls out. I wish the LDL would disappear later so that there isn't this blank space on the bottom of the screen for like 3 seconds before the blue backdrop does disappear.

if only the LDL would be on during commercials also, that would be a sight to see.

IT would then block parts of the ads, which advertisers do NOT like.

true but, it could be like the new LO8 L Bar  or the Earl L Bar that did play during breaks at the height of Earl.  When the new LO8 L Bar debuted, I thought to myself TWC could do so much with that new LO8 L Bar.   I hope to see the new LO8 L Bar being put on weekends this weekend!

It's happened on occasion, ever since the LDLs first appeared in the 1980s, but, of course, this is only as the result of human error or a technical glitch.  The only exceptions are, naturally, the scrolling weather advisories.

Yeah, but don't other networks do that (like CNBC and ESPN)?
