I would not be surprised if this new logo goes live for everything. Think FOX News rotating logo.
I would not mind that at all.  It looks nice to me.
Now if only we knew what happend to the other LDLs

I don't mind it either.   A local station has a rotating logo as well, advertising the website.  I think it is a good idea, because a lot of TWC's promos already promote TWC Mobile and weather.com.  (However, I think the weather.com logo is kind of a waste, but whatever :P )

New animated logo during lHDl locals

The Weather Channel HD Local Forecast: With new Animated Logo

It doesn't say |HD| anymore   :footinmouth:

But I don't hate it too much, although it reminds of something news channels do by always rotating the logo.

The only times now it says lHDl is during K flavors (1:30) and Long form (1:00) but don't be surprised if the logo is updated to those flavors as well.

Still not into K flavors or DE flavors yet..

Im starting to wonder if theyre implementing the LOT8s ads into the HD LF now (in phases)

That's what I'm thinking too, as long as the IntelliStar can handle an animation like that. A lot of other news channels, and the Big 3 channels are like this.

That's what I said. This logo reminds me of a lot of rotating news station logos.

LOT8s sponsors are never done at :18/:48 past nor on 1:00 flavors

That's what I was thinking....I like the concept here, it's a refreshing idea. However, I personally feel it would look better and less distracting if it did rotate like the FOX News logo.....less distracting.

During afternoon long-form, they've been doing periodic weather updates on Tropical Storm Igor from the key wall in the studio with the red light above it.

Who the heck thought it would be a good idea to put a bright red light up there anyway?!

The last (and only, IIRC) time they used the key walls with the red light was during the TWC Outage of January 2008. I don't know why they are using the red light, unless there is another outage, which I find highly unlikely. So, I am confused.

We're talking about the key wall that has the red tally light above it.
