General TWC Discussion

Watched the opening of WC, TWC is in red mode with the L3rds. TWC's HD/SD LDL is still blue. Since Hermine is here I'm guessing TWC thought why go back to normal now with Hermine here. LR is back on also.

Just saw Rick Knabb @ 8:34pm and noticed he's wearing red (same color of the L3rd and the cone of uncertainty)

Strange, I hope TWC didn't can the LDA, LDA/LDL, 33%LDL I liked the different LDL's.  The 33%LDL gives a lot more info to people  with cable. I wouldn't think TWC would can it.  Does anyone have an in with TWC to see what's going on?

If they did can it they would most likely use this 33% LDL (i caught back in late june) to take the place of the LDA/LDL.

I'm hoping they did can the 33% LDL... it took up too much screen real estate.

I hope so too. It was pointless. If they really did, I would be a super duper happy storm. ^_^

But to the average viewer they want a quick forecast on the small LDL which was probaly the deciding factor. (if the 33% LDL was discontinued)

It always seemed funny to me that you get a bigger LDL during some (but not all) weather programming (more weather info with more weather info), but during longform programming, the smaller one (less weather info with less weather info).  I know the big LDL would be quite annoying during longform, and don't think it should have been used during longform, just seemed funny.

True however some Viz graphics were incompatible with it.. (cut off data for example)

I hope the 33% LDL won't be discontinued.  I was very impressed when it débuted, since it can display so much more information than the small LDL.
