Are the ads supposed to be overlapping the radar shots like this and is it happening on SD as well?  this is happening when programs go to break
This is also happening on SD, Zach. I just checked a few minutes ago.

I've noticed that, for some reason, before the LDL disappears the ads replay. Therefore, I'm sure the radar is really covering up the ads that are always there and right before a break, the ads take priority and cover up the radar. I don't really see this as a big deal.

when will the HD and SD LDL go back to blue, it's 1:17 AM CDT and it's still on "Red Mode" and Earl isn't a threat in the US anymore.

They TWC crews are probably running thin after all of this coverage. Doesn't surprise me about the errors

Hopefully after the weekend when the holiday is over and normal schedules come back.

Red LDLs with the random-city radar insert are still being used for PME and, like yesterday, the "Today's Forecast" temperature is unavailable. Don't know why this is happening.

Also, did PME get new L3rds? I thought the top "bar" used to be all black, but now some of it is a very light shade of gray.

I noticed last night that the radar in the "ad" space was only showing coastal cities, moving clockwise down the east coast, across the south, then back up the western US.  Anyone else notice this, and know why it was only coastal cities?

it was most likely an insert for when earl was still around, maybe TWC will keep this add-on but add each big city that is used on the LDL.

and it would also be sufficient on those new LDA shows on the bottom right instead of that bothersome ad space.

That's what I thought at first, but it included cities on the Gulf and the West Coast as well.

is it odd that TWC hasn't gone back to the 33% LDL? or is TWC gonna keep the smaller LDL?

probably the same reason why it took them so long to switch the LDL back to the blue one.

Is the LDA back on TWC HD?

No, not yet. I wish they would do away with the 33% LDL and LDA, but that obviously is not going to happen. :( My guess is that everything will be back to normal tomorrow.

Labor Day beach/coastal getaways would be my guess
