Carl wasn't on Weekend Now this morning, so I am assuming he was filling in for Kelly on WV (I didn't watch).
Yes he was, it was Carl and Betty on 7am WV.
I wonder, but who was that on with Heather Tesch on WN yesterday? I only got to briefly watch TWC yesterday and not at the top or bottom of the hour. :wall:

Steve McLaughlin (sp?). He's a new OCM.

That's who I thought it was. Thanks for clarifying!

Ryan Goswick is on right now. Can't say I've ever seen him on this late as a freelancer before.

Sometime between Sunrise Weather/early Weekend View and late Weekend View on Saturday, they slightly changed the look of the tropical titlebars.

Notice the font change and the color scheme of the middle text line.
My super-awesome website!

Also, I think Dr. Rick Knabb is a great replacement for Dr. Steve Lyons.  He seems to be very knowledgable and I look forward to his coverage throughout this season.

Yes, he's certainly knowledgable, but he also seems to be like a bit of dry toast on air... he hasn't yet developed his own television personality.
Yea thats what it seems like. Over time I am sure he will warm up :)
i love how everyone was complaining that they weren't doing enough coverage...and now people seem to think that they're going over board. get over it.
Haha! TWC is going to jump on this system because they need a new weather story to start covering and its the first storm of the season with an imminent landfall. Interest is high all over the media!

Interest is high probably since everyone is concerned whether or not this would affect the oil spill (even though it's not expected to much).

Actually wave action is going to contribute to some of the clean up and containment efforts

Is TWC in Storm Alert??

I was told that Storm Alert music is played whenever a Hurricane Watch/Warning is in effect for any part of the US (which it is). I am on vacation in ATL so I haven't really gotten a chance to turn on the TV.

Thanks  B)

Storm Alert is now only used on TWC if a MAJOR hurricane (Cat. 3 or higher) is expected to hit the U.S. Alex will likely not become a major hurricane. ;)

Who said that?  Last I checked, I thought they only needed a landfalling storm.  Anyone remember Tropical Storm Alberto? :D

Oh wow, don't get me started on that. They did so for Ernesto too, and remember how TWC would use special graphics and wall-to-wall coverage for a storm that did virtually NO damage at all (Beryl)?

At least TWC learned their lesson somewhat.
