If TWC is treating the Haiti special as a long-form program and allowing brief periods for local forecasts or using the L-bar, then it all works out okay. After all, an estimated 200,000 people are suspected to be dead from this earthquake in the poorest country of the Western Hemisphere. I know the media coverage has been excessive, but this natural disaster is probably going down as the 10th deadliest to ever occur in the world's history.
