You know the staff of Weather Center is cursing now that they actually have to cover weather and do real work. :P

Also Matt I think the media is also at fault. No reason whatsoever to blow it up like this. They all look like fools!

Wow, I missed quite some action...  :blink:

Just heard about this "balloon boy" story as I left Music class, and hearing that TWC was covering it, I was like WTF. They need to cover an upcoming nor'easter (or possibly DOUBLE) today and throughout this weekend and now I hear that Today's top story is OMG A BOY GOT STUCK INSIDE A BALLOON. uhh, where's the  :censored: weather in this story?

* Anistorm gets some more news.

Oh, he lied. BS!!!! O M FREAKIN G. This makes me even more mad. Covering a pointless story that has nothing to do with weather. This is even worse than WUWA IMO. This is what I have seen as the BIGGEST FAIL EVER. TWC, you fail as a weather news network. Nuff said.

I agree Ana. This is the WORST I have ever seen TWC do.

3:40-4:25 Balloon Boy coverage without commercials and lf
4:25-6:12 Balloon Boy coverage with commercials and lf. No weather segments at all
6:13- Awkward moment with NBC reporter who says it was all a joke.

I'm with you guys on that as well.
I'm truly disappointed at the fact that TWC wasted their time (as well as other news networks) to put something like this out there to the public when it came up to all be a joke.  :angry:

Meh.  They had nothing else better to discuss today (outside of TWC - but remember - they broke into longform and very easily could have continued with wx coverage at 4:00 since the incident was over).

I'd rather go back to the days of Ernesto/Alberto coverage. At least that dealt with weather.

Do you think we'll see an apology from the parties responsible for wasting so much coverage time?

I totally agree with Ana and Martin.We have a really bad nor'easter hitting us right now,and as Ana said,calling for a double.The flooding is gonna get really bad here,and all they're talking about is a  :censored: balloon boy story. I watched my local news at 6:00.They spent about 1 minute on the story(if it was even that long).But TWC spends 3 hours talking about it.That was wayyyy too ridiculous!  :club:

That's an awful lot of pointless coverage there.

For me, only my NBC affilate has "expanded" the story.

I am VERY dissapointed coming here and reading that The Weather Channel (?) spent SO much time covering this story :rolleyes:  I am upset that other news outlets have been covering this story so extensively.  Talk about lack of attention for the boys parents.  I don't even have any words for this :rolleyes: 

If I wanted more on this story, I'll turn to a news channel.
