There were some odd happenings at 11:30 AM CT on Weekend Now Saturday morning. The segment started with an elongated black screen with Severe Weather music playing, and then Kevin Robinson gets tongue tied trying to say "Severe Weather," leading him to give up and let Eboni say it. They then follow up on Kevin's goof when introducing Dr. Forbes, who proceeds to turn it into a little pun.

I also included the rest of Dr. Forbes's segment for the heck of it.

At 4:43 PM ET, Dave said an Epic Conditions segment would follow, but they showed a Danny Lipford segment instead.

At 4:30 PM CT, they used a pre-June 2007 PME lower third (the normal, 2 lines lower third). That was a surprise! :o

Was that one of the ones that reports the temperature and condition on the bottom line? Those are still in use, but they're used very rarely. I did see one at the top of the hour today and yesterday, though.

Correct. Though I don't understand why they use the older lower thirds for that, because it looks like they could just use the current lower thirds to display the current observations.

AFAIK, those L3s pull the current conditions data directly from the source (NWS or HiRAD) directly instead of being typed up by hand. I guess they never bothered to set these types of L3s up for the new format, which is why all shows use their old L3 styles for this function, except for EE, which, for whatever reason, uses a purple version of the old WC L3 style.

Massive audio drop during the 8:48 EST local...narration has completely coved the music.  And continued through the next segment.

Today at 11:21 PM ET, they broke in with a Weather Update. Alexandra was doing the Weekly, Planner, then they showed the main desk with two empty seats, then, showed a live feed from Jim out in the field, then broke away to a blank Weekly Planner map.

After that, a blank screen came in for a minute or two.

Now during the commercial break, we see the main desk with people working in the background, and no audio. Getting this on tape...

Now we see Rich Johnson in studio...

Edit: Now hearing "Broad Street" by George Howard in the background, then it cut out.

Edit2: IS cut in after hearing WWCH promo and CC sponsor music.

I see what's going on. I'm hearing the national audio feed, but seeing the alternate feed of an empty GFC desk:

\

Then at 11:33 PM ET, I see the EE intro and then after that, Carl Parker at at the chroma with no audio.

Edit: at 11:36, I am seeing SkyTracker focused on the storms in the south then at 11:37, SkyTracker on the Los Angeles area.

Do we have any idea who the woman is?
