Wild weather in my area tonight.
First, around 7:30ish, we got hit with a thunderstorm, which had vivid lighting, some strong winds and (much needed) heavy rain. :) Then, a tornado warning was issue for the extreme southwestern portion of Escambia County (my county), due to a tornado being reported by the public. This tornado warning is still in effect until 9 PM CT.

Thats pretty minor stuff, at least around here it is. Did you see a tornado? that would've been cool.

Not yet, but the storm cell responsible for the tornado is it is making it's way towards my area, at least it seems that way from the radar.

I forgot :(

Wow, that's some wild weather Stephen! Hope you got through it ok.
Yeah, we did. We didn't get hit by the storm that produced the tornado, but the first storm that developed went through us, and the winds were pretty sporty, although it wasn't too strong. We got some much needed rain, though. B)
-
Yesterday evening we picked up over an inch of rain! And today, from another storm that hit here, we picked up about a half an inch. It's not much, but I'll take it.
-
At 3 am this morning, we got hit by a thunderstorm, and it was raining pretty hard for about 10-15 minutes. According to both of my rain gauges, we got exactly an inch of rain, which is great. :D
-
Last night, we got a pretty big storm, and we picked up 2 inches of rain from it! It started raining at 1 am, and it stopped sometime after 5am (with breaks in between, though). I actually went to bed at about 1 am, but the storm woke my up an hour later due to the loud thunder. <_< I finally got back to sleep sometime after 5 am.
We need more of these storms (though I'd rather have it during the day, than while I'm sleeping).
-
Wow your lucky. We aren't desperate for rain, but we could definitely use a couple inches!
-
Also last night, we set a record low. It went down to 69, breaking the record of 70. The funny thing is, my IntelliSTAR displayed the record temperature screen, and it had the ice background on it. I don't think 69 is THAT cold. :P
-
Yah, 69 is warm here for a low. :D

Yeah, but still, I can handle a temp of 69. ;)

We could desperately use some rain and perhaps some severe weather in my area. :P

No, i dont mind it for a LOW.

Actually, no it wouldn't. Deserts typically get very cold at night. They experience drastic temperature changes from day to night.

Doesn't look like it.
Well, I can assure you that they are. ;) I downloaded them from somewhere on TWC's website where they had the icons posted on the server, in transparent PNG format.
-
Very interesting. I guess I just haven't been paying enough attention to their icons. :D

I didn't get it from the SDK. It was from somewhere else at TWC's site. I can't remember where at the moment, though.

Are you sure? sounds like it would be in the SDK

Yes. I'm sure. Though, by now I'd assume they've probably update their SDK.

Here's a 4000 emulator clip from 5:42 PM CT tonight, during a thunderstorm. (It was thundering pretty loud, too! :o) Featuring "Small Town" by Trammell Starks.

I checked the TWC HiRAD observations a few minutes ago, and the current temperatures is 91, with a heat index of 110, so it feels a good 20 degrees warmer than the apparent temperature.
-
Here's a 4000 emulator clip from 12:18 AM tonight, featuring "Trade Winds" by Eddie Reasoner. The temp reports are more like what we see on a typical summer afternoon, NOT on a summer overnight.

Looks like isolated tornadoes may form in your area.
We never get any ;)
-
Whenever a hurricane hits our area, we always get isolated tornadoes.
-
We're about to get hit with a pretty heavy line of storms. We're not even seeing the beginnings of this next line, but we're seeing quite a bit of thunder and lightning.
-
Damn! I would kill to have that (during the Spring/Summer months)
-
This line of storms about to hit here look rather nasty. :o

If you don't mind me asking, why do get severe weather in your area every week?

If I had a way to burn it to a DVD, capture it, and then erase it, I wouldn't have to wait until I had 5 videos.

If you don't mind me asking, why do get severe weather in your area every week?
Not quite every week, but we do get thunderstorms (not always necessarily severe) often. They don't call Florida the lightning capital of the national (and yet they call it the sunshine state :P) for no reason! ;)
If I had a way to burn it to a DVD, capture it, and then erase it, I wouldn't have to wait until I had 5 videos.
Is your DVD burner a DVD-RW? If so, you could burn a DVD-RW (the blank DVD HAS to be a DVD-RW, though), which means you could erase it after you've finished.
-
You could try using DVD-RW's. With those, you can erase and reburn them 100+ times. They shouldn't cost much higher than non-erasable DVD's.
-
I love thunderstorms. I wish i could live in FL for this. :)
-

But like I said in my post, your burner has to be capable of burning DVD-RWs.
