rad/sat location previous request

(1/1)

twcc_Dj0287:
Hey STAR Team I don't know if you got my previous request on the message board at TWC Classics before it was merged with TWC Today about the rad/sat being shifted a little bit further south where the time bar banner is over Northern Mississippi...after my frame was tested a few weeks ago when it was put back it was shifted a little bit North of the previous frame. If this request is possible please do not zoom in or out on the frame..also if it's possible could you change Biloxi on the 8 city obs page to Keesler AFB keeping it in alphabetical order? If this change is not possible I understand.  Thanks for everything STAR Team I really appreciate all the hard work you do!!

Gulfport, MS.

TWC STAR Team:
I have the Radsat image as far south as I can safely place it into the Gulf of Mexico-I pushed it as far south as possible & redeployed the image to your star. The fix you turned in (which we thank you for), resulted in a small loss on the southern portion of the Gulf of Mexico.

Also, we need to keep Biloxi as the observation not Keesler AFB.

Sorry, I can't help you on either request.

Oh okay it's no problem I understand...thanks for the explanation and thank you again for all the hard work STAR Team!!

Since the shift the 5 hr data is missing on the banner? but the radsat is looping images. does it need a full 5 hrs before it returns on the banner?

Also does this mean during hurricane season when a storm is in the Gulf (Katrina, Gustav, Ida for example) the satellite image won't be automatically shifted south and zoomed out showing the storm because of the loss on the southern portion of the Gulf of Mexico?

TWC STAR Team:
You should see the whole gulf when we produce a special satellite image for the GOM in the event of a hurricane. If there is an issue, please let us know. Radsat is a different story.

Radsat 5 hr banner will show when it accumulates 5 hrs worth of images.

Gotcha! I didn't know if the issue also effected the special image shown during a hurricane...Thank you STAR Team for the explanation and all the work you guys do...and I'll definetly let you know if there is an issue if a storm forms in or happens to enter the GOM this season.
