Weather in posts?
« on: January 18, 2013, 01:13:15 AM »
Any news about when or whether the weather information will be returning to posts?

Not only was it interesting to see the local weather for every member, but it made it so much easier to find out where each member was posting from.

I understand a forum upgrade took this feature away from us, but I haven't heard any updates recently about whether any progress has been made towards getting it back.

I tried modifying the data source with the old code but it failed. Once the NWS changed their format it broke the code. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions for a replacement option I am open to any ideas!

I'm guessing it's the same problem I had with my short-lived "your weather now" area (or whatever I called it). I never figured it out either. Mainly because I lost interest in trying to find an answer.

Thanks for trying.  Maybe someday a way will be found to fix it.

This messup affected any site that used the no-longer-supported HW3 software from Ham Weather.
I've gone off on a journey to be a moderator at another forum, but this place will forever remain home for me~

Not sure if this will work, but it's worth a shot.

Hmmm that appears to be working. I'll look at the code they are using
