We already have, what, 5 or 6 admins here, plus 2 more in Matt and Tyler? Are we really gonna need 7 or 8 administrators? Also, will, and how will, the content of the 2 forums be merged?

Yeah we're gonna have more admins in that case. 5 or 6 is enough in that case if both forums are merged.IIRC the content would remain on their seperate sites.

The sites and their content would be kept separate. The forums would all transition here.

Once I look at the users database and figure out how I will transition them over, I will discuss my findings with Martin and we will pick a weekend in the next few weeks to do it. The forums would be locked and unusable the whole weekend during the users merge seeing as how I might have to import them one by one manually. This is just fair warning to everyone on both forums. I will look at the db in a few days.

I know who that person is but I thought the STAR TEAM was a group of people, not one person.
Not at the moment at least. Sure its a group of people at TWC but not who visit the forums
Actually, there's another person by the name of Bob Farmer who visits, as he has put his name on his posts a few times in topics I have made. I also think there was an older group who utilized the Stars prior to mid-2006.

He's not the admin. He's just telling us about the future merge of TWCC. That's all.

I'm not an admin. I'm working with martin, he is making ALL the decisions in regards to this merger. I'm pretty much his bitch and am doing the behind the scenes part. As I have said before to Martin, and I will say it here: I would not accept a promotion to adminship. It creates a conflict of interest. If Martin has any problems with the things I work on, he usually immediately tells me.

As Ana said, I was explaining the merger process, with Martin's permission.

Yeah we're gonna have more admins in that case. 5 or 6 is enough in that case if both forums are merged.IIRC the content would remain on their seperate sites.
While I might need admin privileges to do certain things (like pin a topic), I currently have no interest in banning people, responding to complaints about posts, or anything else an admin typically does.

Well then I guess that pretty much takes care of that issue. LOL.  :D

Honestly though, I have no interest in performing most admin functions either. The only reason I elect to keep the title is because I founded the site. I couldn't tell ya when I last performed any admin function lol.

I feel the admin position is mostly a respect situation. I wont ever remove Gary from an admin position because clearly he deserves the position. Matt also deserves it in my opinion. People view the admin position as something far greater than it really is I think. I have put thought into a Global Moderator position that has nearly the same privileges as an admin and if Matt would consider that option I would rework how I will implement his admin team and even take another look at my own.

I like the Global Moderator idea.

I like the Global Moderator idea, too.  There's going to be a lot of sorting to do after this merge, so I want to let all the admins from TWCT and TWCC know that I'm more than happy to help all of you in whatever ways you think is best.

I vote yes. Here are my reasons:

-The two sites basically have the same forums.
-The sites also have pretty much the same section, just with different looks.
-Also, all of the same users are on both sites.

Not even close. Yes, there's some overlap, but there's a large number of TWCC members that aren't here and TWCT members that aren't TWCC members. That's why Martin and Jesse are trying to merge the member lists.
