I have edited the cable provider, channel number, and WxStar ID number area of the profile fields. Everyone needs to go into their profile and edit their entires. Note that for your ID number, you must omit the zeros, as I have put a 5-character limit on the field (i.e. 22438, not 022438). Also, I have provided a list of cable providers to give the area a more uniform look. Should your provider not be listed, please post here and let me know and I will add it.
If you do not receive TWC|HD or Weatherscan, please leave the fields blank, do not enter N/A.

Just a note - I see a few people edited their info, but their cable provider is set to Blue Ridge Communications (the default selection). That area is a radio button area, you must chose the button next to your provider (i.e. if your cable co is Comcast, select the circle next to Comcast).

Martin was able to figure out how to have no default selected, that way the area will be blank until you chose your provider. Thanks Martin!

FYI - just added a field for HD WxStar ID # for when it becomes widely available, therefore I have renamed the former WxStar ID# to "SD WxStar ID #"

Just a note, if you don't have Weatherscan or TWC|HD, I'm asking you leave those fields blank. Please don't enter N/A. If you currently have N/A in one of the fields, please go in and delete it. Thanks!

I know this isn't a popular option, but I'm one of few users who see two Intellistar units pretty much daily. Could you make it so that I can enter in both channel numbers I see it on and both IDs (either like I have had it (meaning I enter two things in one line), or through two fields)?
Also, I'm sure many of us who have TWC in both SD and HD will have both the Intellistar and the HD STAR, so maybe for the future, we could be able to select two options instead of just one?

From your house you have 1 STAR like everyone else. The HD STAR is part of the Intellistar family and posting the HD ID would clearly indicate you have the Intellistar2

I can't change it every last time I go back and forth. I have two separate homes. I don't see why it's such a big deal to just make it so that I can enter in two fields.

Having more fields than there are will clutter the left side of posts more than it already does.

Jesse is exactly right. We changed the area to make it less cluttered, and more uniform. You will only be able to enter one ID, and that's it. If you post in the tech support area, just make sure to indicate the ID number you are talking about.

If you really want to use the ID field just put 22840 since you live in Lansing most of the time. Or, what you have in your signature is sufficient too. Didn't think of that.

No, Tyler has it set on a character limit.

Have you considered adding an "interests" profile field yet? This can just appear in the profiles and not in everyone's posts like the STAR-related fields. I think it's a great way to get more info on our fellow forum posters.
Why is getting more info of fellow posters important? Why don't we have a field where you can post your SSN#, street address and who you slept with last night?

Thank you all for the adjustments as I think they're better now for us and the STAR Team. B) We don't need to add any more to the profile fields as there's already a lot on the left side of everyone's posts.

Hey Tyler... I noticed that when you can select your STAR in your profile. you have the IntelliStar 2 and the regular IntelliStar. I thought I read something on some other forums on the internet that if the company has TWC HD, they need to Intellistar 2 (That is, if I read your post correctly). So, how would that work if people had both? (And it may have been dslreports.com).

If people have both, they will know when you input the HD STAR ID number.

I think he's saying that, because you must select your STAR from a list, you can only select one and when the IntelliSTAR 2 comes out, there may be some people with a regular IntelliSTAR AND an IntelliSTAR 2. :yes: Since the IS2 is not out yet, we really don't need to worry about this issue yet. ;)
