Local Across The 48s #4- June 25
« on: June 14, 2009, 02:21:15 AM »
To honor the 2 year anniversary of TWCT I would like to do a Local Across the 48s on June 25!

The time will be 7:57PM ET

For those of you not familiar with this, at a certain time, members across the country capture their local on the 8s. This allows everyone to see weather at different locations and across different STAR platforms. We prefer that you have a video tuner but a digital camera/ camcorder shot will also be accepted. Please try to keep quality as high as possible.

Feel free to post any questions or comments here.

What is a local across the 48s? It sounds like something I'd like to participate in.

Local Across The 48's (LAT48's) is a project where everyone records a TWC LF at the exact same time. It sounds fun and I would be more than happy to participate. I am flexible as well with times, and I will try to go up to the thumb to record the Bad Axe XL. I do think, however, that we should do a two minute LF, and not a 90 second or one minute one.
TWC in...
Lansing: Comcast, Channel 36, STAR ID 22840
E. Lansing: Comcast, Channel 40, STAR ID 22842
Lansing Area: Broadstripe, Channel 40, STAR ID 25349
Current STAR count: 32. Be sure to see my channel for links to all the uploads!

Oh okay. I'll try to participate. It all depends on what I'm doing that day though.

I'll take care of the HD Satellite LF.

12:28 ET sounds like a good time (so we can get a 2-min LF rather than those dreaded 1-min LFs).

No, I'd say we stay away from middays since a lot of people are away at work. Try somewhere between 8-10 PM.

BTW, I just made an annoucement on this on TWCT's Facebook page and will remind everyone periodically. :)

I will try the best I can to capture both my Mount Holly and Lower Bucks IntelliStar.

Or at 9 AM ET. I can't ever watch TWC at night because my parents won't get me DirecTV back in my room because their phone lines are always busy.

Next to no one is watching TWC in the early morning hours. (except for me and Jesse usually)

Primetime is generally the ideal time to do a Local Across the 48s.

That hour will be long-form all that week. It'll have to be the hour before or after that, I'd say.

Then I'd say we go for the 9PM ET hour. IIRC, most of our other LAT48's have occured during the 9PM hour and they've worked out quite well.
