Ok, we are going to be doing our own Local Across The 48's. The question is, when would you guys like to do it? Let me know what day/s are good for you guys. Any day is good for me so I really don't care when we do it. I haven't been in touch with Chazz yet, but I will ATTEMPT to get in touch with him shortly. The truth is, I seldom see him on AIM, on TWCC, or anywhere else for that matter, so I don't know how long it may take to get a response.

Anytime works for me. I can always set the VCR to record, but I'd rather be there at the moment. I hope it's not going to be between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM (Pacific Time), since I'll be at school.

I was thinking the same thing. It would be cool to see everybody's station ID. Though the station ID will not show at 7:57 PM ET because Storm Stories. 8:57 PM ET, 9:57 PM ET, or 10:57 PM ET would work better.

Yes. 8:57 PM ET (5:57 PM PT) sounds like a fine time to do it, and maybe 9:57 PM ET (6:57 PM PT) as a backup in case we get a satellite LF? So what day should we do this on? Thursday would be too short notice, and I'd say steer clear of Friday and the weekends because people may have plans. So sometime next week?

If I remember I'll record my Marlton/Mount Holly IntelliStar, and I might also timer record my VCR over at my dad's house in Bensalem, PA to record the IntelliStar over there (though I probably won't send that in until at least Sunday the 16th, since I'm only at his house on weekends/holidays).

I'll be able to record the IntelliStar here in Lancaster. I might be able to get the IntelliStar back in Hanover if I can figure out how to program the VCR. :p

Right. If you want to record to VHS and convert it to your pC yourself, be my guest. But I don't want people sending VHS to me. This is something that was frequently done with Chazz, so I just want to make sure that people don't expect the same of me.

I said I was going to do it but I have satellite and I thought satellite contribs don't work. I can go to YouTube, capture the satellite lf with my webcam and put in my video description "Courtesy of the Local Across the 48s project-TWC Today" if that works for Gary.

Gary, I am also recording a video of the IntelliStar over at my dad's house for locals across the 48's. Is it okay if that doesn't get sent to you until Sunday 09/16 (at the earliest)? I will, however, send a video of my Mount Holly IntelliStar sometime tonight.

I do live in Ottawa, and we are EST.. how ever, I might have been in a different time zone when I read it, maybe I just refered the time to what time I was in and remembered 7:57PM .. Or maybe it was that it was at :57 instead of :58 and that extra 7 threw me off :P So many different ways to screw me up, lol..

That happened to me as well. I simply broke down and uploaded the video to my own webspace:

The video is an 8.5MB ASF (Windows Media), which I'll probably take down after a few days to save bandwidth. The forecast in question was taken from a Princeton, WV-area cable headend with an XL.

mostpopular, is there any way you can convert your video to something other than a .mov file? Those are Quicktime files, and that may be a problem for some folks.

You have to enter those four letters in the box (some browsers don't show it for reasons unknown). I tried sending the file to Billy (beanboy) but it was blocking my transfer.
Once again, my apologies for the intermediaries - I did quite a bit of searching for space to upload and found this site to be easiest.

I put Mount holly because that's where the Current Conditions on your LF came from.
