Title: BIG plans a comin'!
Post by: lfmusiclover on April 06, 2008, 11:53:17 PM
I've got some big things planned for the forum this week. First, I;m going to continue inviting artists to the forums. The first batch of invites were focused mainly on the small time indie artists. The next batch will go to some of the bigger names-like Boney James, Spyro Gyra, Roger Smith, Chris Camozzi, etc. I figure that its less likely that such big names would have the time-or desire for that matter-to join us, but I won't know if I don't try.

Also, I am going to try and get some TWC folks here. I have several things in mind, including trying to get the STAR Team to come aboard, as well as the OCM's, and even the music man. Kyle, I think I could use your help with these things, especially the STAR Team. Perhaps you could get me in touch with those folks? Shotting e-mails to the OCM's and music man should be easy enough using TWC's e-mail address protocol, but I figure the STAR Team may be a bit trickier. PM me if you'd like (I'm sure you'd rather do that).

Stay tuned folks, this could get interesting!  :sunglasses: :twothumbs:

as well as the OCM's,
I do know that Carl Parker is at TWC Classics, if that helps any.

Yeah I had that in mind when I came up with the idea of inviting the OCM's. I figure if he is a member at TWCC, then I can at least get him to check us out. I'm even thinking of creating a board for chatting with the OCM's. That is, if enough of them join (not holding my breath on that though).

I think this is a good idea, however just sending emails using the alastname@weather.com might come off as a bit odd for TWC employees. Plus some people have @mail.weather.com... Lets talk via PM...

If you can do that Gary, that would be a HUGE plus.

That would be a major asset to this forum, and the whole TWC fanbase ,.....Good luck Gary  :shades:

Yes, today is my day back at work. Along with having to teach a HS class again today... However, last night I did post a slate advertising TWCT on Domino, Lotus and, Exchange so we should be getting a few people from all walks of TWC life. :P

Sounds great! Does that include the STAR Team people? Also, do you think I should create a new board for chatting with the TWC folks and/or STAR Team folks?

STAR Team included, every employee of TWC included. :P

You can create a board, I'd just have one for General TWC questions.. I'd also put some heavy moderation over it...

I technically am still employed by TWC, and have a TWC email :P I guess if anyone has any questions right now, they can post them and I can take a crack at them, I mostly know about TWC TV engineering and TWC mobile productions...

Your correct Derek. But (and no offense Kyle) I've never considered Kyle a true blue TWC employee. He's always seemed like more of a freelancing type to me.

Need some help form you guys, especially those of you who frequently contact the lesser known TWC artists. I don't know every TWC artists e-mail address or web address, so if you have any artists e-mail address, please help this cause by sending invites to those artists. It would really be appreciated.

FYI, I've jsut sent a message to Chris Hoitsma about the possibility of getting the STAR Team to come here. I figured I should probably try and take some initiative of my own, instead of waiting around for Kyle and others to help. I will let you know what I hear from Chris. I requested that he pass my message on to the STAR Team for THEIR consideration, so I will also let you know how that goes. Keep your fingers crossed folks, it just may happen!  :twothumbs:

Alright, I need some help from you guys. You guys contact TWC quite frequently, so I wonder, do you know of any other contact there besides Chris Hoitsma? As I told you guys a couple of days ago, I contacted him regarding the STAR Team coming here, but I did not hear back from him (and according to you guys, he's lightning fast with responses). I am willing to fire off an e-mail to anyone I can find to send one to. Chances are, I'll find someone who can help if I work at it.

My address book has 43 TWC contacts..... Also, your not quite getting that things don't happen within hours.... You sent the email to Chris just over 30 hours ago, not "a few days ago" these things take time and wont happen, litteraly, over night. They will join us, when they have a free moment, if they choose to. As well, I have already posted something for everyone at TWC.

Your confused. I didn't expect them to join us so soon. I DID expect a reply to my e-mail this soon, and I believe thats reasonable, especially given Hoitsma's sudden revived reputation for lightening quick responses. Also, FYI, not a single Atlanta IP checked in today. Not exactly what I like to see.

BTW, I'm not doing things on my own to spite you. I truly appreciate what your doing. I'm just an independent spirit, and hate sitting around while other people work for me. I like to do things for myself too.  :sunglasses:

Well, I've sent e-mails off to several TWC contacts regarding getting the STAR Team or SOME staffer(s) here, but NONE of the contacts have replied. Some sort of reply would be nice, even if its just to say that my message was forwarded to some other person. It would be nice to know that my messages are at least being received/read.  :whistling:

Got any ideas for what would be a safe subject line? Perhaps I should quit sending from my Hotmail account and use my Verizon account? Or Gmail?
