Title: Weather World.com
Post by: SO7430 on February 18, 2016, 01:18:06 AM
Ok, This is my idea of a weather website.
It is essentially this : http://www.weatherdaddy.us/weatherdaddy/index.html (http://www.weatherdaddy.us/weatherdaddy/index.html) But with fonts, graphics, and icons from the intellistar used from 2007-2013. More specifically 2010-2013. I am currently exploring different radars, since I know the real one used is impossible to use. I am very pleased with Baron's VIPIR and FasTrac, they have a similar style and look to TWC's previous radar. That is the website in a nutshell. It will include a 12-hour temperature and conditions forecast along with the typical 36 hour outlook, 7-day, almanac, record temps. I know absolutely nothing about doing any of this, but I'm still going for it even if i don't get anywhere. Another great feature of the site is that it will have a music option where I will include 2 tracks, but users can upload their own and have them on a repeating playlist, or no music at all.  I have created several logos you guys tell me your favorite. I am completely open and welcome to criticism, as long as its constructive. I am also open to changes to the site graphics and name. Heres a *VERY* rough draft of the site i drew on paper, excuse my awful artwork.

This is VIPIR's national radar, which can also be satellite, and regional radar. The video of the local weather channel in Cleveland I posted about with the music uses VIPIR. It also posts warnings watches and alert crawls.

This is the only picture I could find of a zoomed in radar showing cities and highways.

I really like the detailed map showing mountains and land variance.

for comparison :

Also this music along with the other 5 songs will be default songs but you can remove them and add which ever ones you want.

I'm working on some more sketches up close, so you guys can get a better idea, like I'm doing the page header which includes a CC tab, Radar, the music option, location settings and the site greeting and logo, on paper now, but I will do each section of the page singularly on paper.

This is the VERY FIRST draft of the site. It is very sloppily made, I just want to give you guys an idea, Its just the CC tab, site greeting, radar, and 36 hour forecast. What do you guys think. There will be more added eventually.

Here is just the top of the page. The locations tab is really screwed up here.

I'm thinking of ditching the website ide for a full blown computer emulator. I atleast came up with a pretty crappy logo....
