Title: Raymie's Icon-ery
Post by: Darr'chelle on December 09, 2008, 06:33:36 PM
Time for some long needed modified icons! Made with Photoshop and a good deal of the Eraser brush.

AM Clouds PM Sun v2 and AM T-Storms were actually seen on a STAR - the AM T-Storms is in the Screenshots section of TWCT (it's in the Extended Forecast).

Awesome job on those icon ideas. I think I'll use your corrected "Light Wintry Mix" one from here on out.

Welcome to the modified icons team.

Nighttime Partly Stormy, in two flavors.
----
Shock: Michael's requested icons from me, not me from him. The dust in these is a brush.----Mostly Stormy icons. Not particularly hard to make.

Improved Blowing Dust icons:
(the blowing dust layer is from the NBCU icons, which were taken from a guy in Poland!)

You made XL/InteliStar icons like the 97-01 PMX icons but in Canada we called the clouds late icon the clouding over icon i am working on a ISTAR emulation with those icons.

I am proud to announce QuickCast, my set of 89+2 weather icons for all applications.

What's great about QuickCast?

It has legibility. I've outsmarted The Weather Channel by making icons in a flat style that also are easy to read.

They're scalable. The default size of QuickCast icons is 160x160, much larger than most icon sets (128x128).

There's 89+2 of them. I went through my XL icon and other icon set collections to create a comprehensive package that trumps even respected icon sets like the IntelliStar 2006 package - including modified icons.

What's the +2? The 90th icon in QuickCast is a No Data icon. Like the other 90 icons, it visibly communicates the lack of data, with a greyscaled sun and the words "No Data" at the bottom. The 91st, "Weather Alert", indicates an active weather alert.

It's even so comprehensive that most weather.com-compliant icon sets for Samurize only have 42 unique icons. Over half of the icons in QuickCast aren't even used for weather plugins!

QuickCast. Weather icons you can always turn to.

If you are interested in viewing a sample, hop over to The Weather Channel Reimagined. If you want to order the full set of 91 QuickCast icons, contact me and I will send you each icon in 160x160 PNG format.

Fiesta Sol is the first expansion to QuickCast.

What's new?

*AM and PM icon variants and PM Clouds, bringing it up to 101 icons
*A modified AM Clouds/PM Sun icon

Fiesta Sol will be available on its own for those with the latest version of QuickCast.

An XL icon I was waiting to make. AM Fog PM Clouds, in a variant with text (as on the LDL) and without (as seen on the XL).
Fiesta Sol is about done, and it will also have some new weather conditions like Tornadic Activity and Blowing Dust/Thunder.

Fiesta Sol for QuickCast.

-The first package is a download-it-yourself version with both the primary and Fiesta Sol packages.
-The second package contains only the Fiesta Sol package.

107 icons are in QuickCast Complete and 17 in Fiesta Sol only.

I'm thinking that this pack might be called Weather Center XL now instead of the already-used QuickCast.

sunlightreport, you will seriously have to stop demanding things from people. I still haven't heard "please" from you. Ever. And we're not Mom that will make a snack every time you say, "Mom, I need a snack."

Maybe if you said "please" you would not get one of these responses every time you ask for something. And possibly you might get the icons. <_<

Do you have GIMP?

You can create icons from there as well.
