Things have been happening, like the background sometimes gets really messed up and the animations lag. Also, the Satellite LF has been playing intermittently every hour.

There a few things missing, just to let you know and sorry for the blurriness of the video... I can't figure out how to export a clear video in AE.

Tell me what you think!

Here are my WeatherStar XL animated Icons that I made in AE that are in Transparent AVI format. There are only the Sun, Rain, and snow icons. The Thunderstorm and Ice icons will be done in a few days. Another thing is that they can Only be used in After Effects, not PPT. They are not transparent in Powerpoint and the GIFS look horrible and are also not transparent if you convert them.. Sorry for the inconvenience.  :hmm: There is no way to get them in to PPT properly..

Here's the link: www.cwlweathernetwork.net/XL icons_animated.zip (http://www.cwlweathernetwork.net/XL icons_animated.zip)

The icons are Courtesy of The Weather Channel Interactive and Micheal's Edited Icons.

Enjoy!

Here's the updated set of icons that I've been working on in the past couple of weeks.

Set one: http://www.cwlweathernetwork.net/WS%20XL%20Icons_Animated_One.zip (http://www.cwlweathernetwork.net/WS%20XL%20Icons_Animated_One.zip)

Set two: http://www.cwlweathernetwork.net/WSXL%20Icons_Animated_Two.zip (http://www.cwlweathernetwork.net/WSXL%20Icons_Animated_Two.zip)

These files do contain the same icons as the last set, they are just tweaked and updated ones.

Also, the third part will come tomorrow since I have no time to upload these huge zip files.

Enjoy! :)

awesome

question... they're playing with inverted colors and all wrong in Windows Media Player on Vista... is there something I did or am doing wrong?

EDIT: I figured out what it was. I had to disable one of the codecs that was installed on my laptop for it to play correctly. So all better :)

Here are some maps that I custom made in PS. One's the XL v3 map, the other's a 4000 map. This is just my first try so the colors may be a little off from the actual XL map. Also, I'm taking requests. So if anyone wants me to make a forecast map or a radar map, just holler.  These only take a few minutes to make so I have no problem.

Just a note, I can only do local maps. Like the regional forecast maps or local and regional radar maps. I'm not able to make maps with a large view, like the satellite radar map on the IS or anything like that.

Thanks! I used PowerPoint to make the 3D Peacock with the 3D feature
(*You have to have a font that has TV news logos. I found a font set on tvnewstalk.net somewhere a while back that has TV news logos. Not sure where though.)
Then I messed with the filter settings in photoshop. (Used the filter chrome effect.. located in Filter -> Sketch -> Chrome) and then messed around with the blending effects. (I used the overlay blend) and then put the layers on top of each other. (I put 4 layers of the chromed peacock on top of each other). The multi-colored spectrum was really hard. I used the round brush with 0% hardness and transformed it into somewhat of a line like beam and then colored and duplicated it with different colors. That was the most challenging part of making those graphics. If you anyone else need any more help.. just PM me!  B)

Robert has given me permission to reupload the animated XL icons.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K1EM0QJ4 (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K1EM0QJ4)

It's a .7z file so you will need WinRAR or a similar program and once extracted you need to extract the .rar's. ;)

NOTE/DISCLAIMER: These are pretty much useless for emulations unless you have Adobe Premiere or Adobe After Effects. You can still use them for viewing purposes.

Welp since Thanksgiving is around the corner and I have a bit more time on my hands, I'm able to mess around with graphics again :) Here's a little something I came up with out of sheer boredom.

Edit: there might be a few errors, ex: I forgot to put the current condition statement below the icons lol.

Thanks for the compliments guys! :) Guess I haven't really lost my touch for graphics design over the years away from Photoshop. Here's an updated CC screen with a map of the location in the background and a few other things added.
