Title: Donovan and Mac's Collaborative IS2 Emulator
Post by: Mr. Rainman on October 21, 2011, 01:02:30 AM
Hi, folks! It's just in its infant stages, but Donovan and I are working together on making a highly realistic IS2 emulator on Powerpoint 2010. It'll take us a few weeks, possibly a month, but we're hoping to have this done before December rolls around. Here's a sneak peak of what we have so far, and we'll release more images as we progress. What do you think?

Just one screenshot? :(

I frown because it's so impressive! Would love to see more, if possible.

I'll have much more up soon. Lately I've been working on it and trying to correct things. Thanks for your interests!

Go to the link above, I have uploaded a "beta" animation video, if you will. I appologize for the low quality, powerpoint does not allow for exports higher than ~1200x700.

This project has completed it's graphical stage and is now undergoing the animation process. We hope to have animations completed by mid-December, if not earlier.

The design isn't really done yet... I have to fix the "Light orbs" those were just place holders. Title bars will be reworked as well, again, just place holders for the time being.  B)

I just want to remind all of you who are using my graphics or Mac's. If you do you MUST state that you got them from Donovan Gatlin and Mac Simms and that they are the sole property of us. We've already seen tonight that someone has stolen artwork from me and used it as their own. I am not the least bit enthused by this and I will act upon anyone who decides to go against my will.

Thanks, Have a great evening.

Admins, please understand that the story behind this is that a certain member of these forums (PM me for the ID) has been caught stealing Donovan and I's graphics.

This is a fair warning to anyone interested in Donovan's graphics, and I speak on behalf of The Weather Center Organization. Thievery of Donovan's graphics is also stealing graphics from our website, and I will not tolerate it. Anyone caught stealing our graphics and using them as their own without our permission will be reported without hesitation on the incriminating website.

Thank you.

Mac and Donovan, this is the risk you take by posting artwork in a public domain like this forum.  It's almost impossible for me to enforce plagiarism as any member or guest can do it without me knowing anything has happened.  I will ask everyone to remember to please give credit for others when you use their work.

So I guess this means you have quit working on the project altogether? :dunno:  I have noticed the website page you had with your progress has been deleted. That's really too bad.  I was looking forward to seeing the final product. :(

Thankfully, that is incorrect. The website has not been deleted, but is undergoing security upgrades. The project is still green-lighted, and is still being worked on. We will have the entire thing done by the end of the year.

I am happy to report that the issue at hand as been resolved. I would also like to apologize to all of you for being wildly over-reactive about this matter. In hindsight, this was not that big of a deal, and we shouldn't have made it one. I hope you can accept this apology on behalf of myself and Donovan.

Just a note that all work on the IS2 has been stopped due to finals on my end. However, despite this, I still expect an on-time completion date before December 25th.

I don't mean to sound pushy because I understand you two are likely very busy with other things and am also aware of the thief incident that happened earlier this month, but are you all still working on this project?  It would be a shame if not.  Your work so far has been excellent, and I can't wait to see the finished product!

Although work on the project has slowed, it is still a work in progress. I don't want to give a completion date just yet until I'm sure we can make one, but we'll be sure to post one once we get closer to completion. Thanks for your interest!
