Hi there!
I'm new to the board, so sorry if this has already been answered! I tried posting in a previous HD topic, and since no one has posted in a while, it asked if I was still sure I wanted to post. I wasn't... <_<
So, who here gets TWC HD? I've lived in 3 separate cities now, and not one of the cable companies has carried the HD version. I'd like to see the HD set in HD...
Thanks!

Hey Andrea! Well, I got to look at the board here and fortunately you are the first to ask. :)
Here in my area there is TWC HD, available on DirecTV, Dish Network, and on the only cable provider in the Imperial Valley, Time Warner. I do plan to get it very soon once I get a huge TV upgrade, and a job as well.
-
I have FiOS, and we have TWC HD. However, none of the Comcast systems in Pittsburgh carry the HD simulcast.
-
I don't (I wish) have TWC HD here for regular cable. Only DirecTV ( <_<) and Dish Network does.
-
Thanks, everyone!
I figured it was mainly available on a dish. I've had Comcast, Cox and now Bright House, and none of them offered TWC in HD! :dunno: I guess the cable providers don't think it's in their best interest?
Thanks very much!

Been fortunate enough to have COX pick it up here just this past August
-
Comcast is going to start broadcasting The Weather Channel HD on October 27 here in the Springfield, MA area.
-
I get it here on Buckeye Cable, I had it even before the HD studio was built.
-
I have HD on Dish here in KY. One of the features that is on the standard feed is the option to press the "select" button on the remote and have instant access to the local forecast. I wish that was on the HD feed as well. Is that option wide spread?
-
So far my area Fall River, MA does not have it on my Comcast Headend, but it is announced to be added in March 2010.
Hopefully by the time the HD Star is rolled out

According to Tyler, the HD Star was delayed, and it may be another year before it's rolled out :/

Mine at often times will cue 1 or 2 seconds early.
-
It's going to be on channel 245 here (once it becomes available), but I doubt we are going to add MORE onto our cable bill lol :bleh:
-
Finally got it on this past Monday the 21st......it's beautiful! I may have faded out of the TWC picture, but TWC HD looks a lot better than I imagined it would.
-
i have TWC HD available in Boston, MA Comcast at my pal mike's house, Mattapoisett, MA on Fios at my sister's house, and Somerset, MA Comcast at my best friend tarl's house.
-
Wow, I now get TWC HD in Bensalem on channel 815! Hello HD satellite clips!

Awesome! Congrats! B)

Comcast added a dozen HD channels recently to my line-up, and TWC is one of them. I'm glad to see TWC HD.
-
According to a legal ad in the Post Gazette... TWC HD is coming to Comcast subscribers in the City of Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh proper) early February, but it won't come to suburban Pittsburgh Comcast subscribers until sometime in March.
-
I don't get why it's still not available in the one place TWC HQ s located. I haven't heard any plans of it being available here in the future either.

Because it's Comcast's decision when they want to pick it up in each individual area.
-
I found it odd how the "HD Starter package" concept appeared on our bill. I wasn't aware we were paying for any HD service :dunno:

Lack of bandwidth and lack of demand. Once your cable company gets most major HD channels then you might see it appear

Kinda late with this, but I also have TWCHD...but unlike most of the people here, I have the HDStar on there.
TWC HDStar - 2/9/10 @ 11:28pm EST (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Edd64tkvQn4#)

Lucky lucky you :P
-
TWC HD became available today on the Comcast headends in New Kensington and Penn Hills. It has been available in the City of Pittsburgh since February, and of course on FiOS forever now. :P
-
It's been available on Comcast in my town for a while now, but, alas, I don't have an HDTV set to watch it on.
-
I think it has been available here for a little less than a year (though I have only been able to see it since February). Not sure about the E.L. and Haslett.
-
Time Warner Cable in Albany has had TWC HD for awhile now. I'm really looking forward to seeing the HD local forecast. I figure at this rate, it may debut in a few years...

Yeah, about that :whistling: :P
-
I've been saying it won't happen before I graduate high school, but now, seems like I should think it won't happen until I'm 30...
-
It's close to being released. Just be patient. :)
-
I don't get HD TWC with Charter but my Grandma has TWC in HD on channel 245 with Comcast. (Monroe, MI).
-
We get it on CH 847 on Xfinity
-
The Dallas/Fort Worth area does have TWC HD on Time Warner Cable (Ch. 738) and Verizon FiOS (Ch. 619). Unfortunately, neither have the IntelliStar 2 (The HD Star) at this time...at least to my knowledge.
-
It depends on your satellite or cable company as to whether or not they have purchased a new Intellistar2 HD box. If they haven't then you will continue to get the same old boring graphics. Call your cable and/or satellite provider and tell them to get on the ball and buy one! The graphics are beautiful on the new istar2 HD too.

Already called and tried asking that in July to Comcast and got a workaround for 45 minutes until they told me they don't know what the Intellistar 2 is. :itsok: i gave them a great description then they told me we will send your request through their Massachusetts systems, i haven't heard from them since.

You won't really get a good answer from their customer service line. The only people who would know what an IS2 is are the headend techs, which customers can't reach AFAIK.

i didn't call customer service. i called Comcast New England and finally got that answer from the VP of public relations saying they will work on adding the Intellistar 2 to most New England systems between now and 2012.

I have had TWC HD now for about 2 years.. Two months ago we had got the new intellistar HD for the HD channel :)

One of the lucky few I see. Good, glad you have a forward thinking cable head end in your area!
As far as talking to customer support, like others have said, you ultimately need to talk with someone who knows the technology. Some customer support person will have no clue what you're talking about. Customer service just about anywhere is pretty lame, sad to say. Honestly, I don't know who you should talk to at one of these companies. Probably the head honcho at that particular head end. Find out who that is and write them a letter. Letters always seem to get some response at least. I'd start there. If they get enough inquiries they'll realize people are tired of not getting a true local forecasts any longer and update their equipment. Satellite folks in particular feel this pain. It's maddening, isn't it? I'm an employee and my satellite/cable head end has not invested either. So, I get to watch all the national places scroll by ... and nothing local. I have to just get it on my phone if I want a true local forecast, or, use the widget I have on DirectTV. Lame. So I wait at home ... along with most of you guys too. I feel your pain. :whistling:
-
I feel ya about DirecTV, since they are my provider too :hmm:
btw, do you know if there are future plans to come out with a national version of the IS2 software (for ads and cable ID insert at :57 past), just as how you guys did with the SD IntelliStar platform for DirecTV and Dish? just curious..

I made a stop at my local cable company and asked, but they said that it is not in the plans as of this moment. It could change at any time.
We're in the transition over from one cable company to another, because the "another" bought the original. This means our lineup will be changing and so will all of our channels... we'll likely be going backwards from a XL to 4000 (the company that bought the original has a 4000, unless they're installing the XL from the original, or installs a new Intellistar).

Comcast is changing over to Xfinity in Blacksburg, so a bunch of new HD channels are coming in November and December. TWC HD is scheduled to arrive here on or about November 11, so I'll be able to rejoin you all in the HD world soon.

Congrats Patrick! i'm glad your going to finally get TWC lHDl.
-
My local cable company is trying to get a contract for TWC HD, but they said it might be mid-late next year or even 2013 before it pulls through. I hate waiting.
-
I get it. Comcast carries it here, which at first I wasn't expecting. It's on channel 782 in their channel lineup here.

Wow, I thought they had rebranded everywhere by now
-
TWC HD has arrived here in Blacksburg. B) I only see the nationwide satellite LF, so I have no idea when that will be upgraded.
-
We have had TWC HD for about a year in our area. They even replaced the analog channel on our TV to the TWC HD feed with black bars at the top and bottom of the screen on the Analog channel. So our old XL is now being phased out with the HD version.
