Title: Time Warner Cable vs. WFAA-TV/Belo Corp.
Post by: texasstooge on September 15, 2010, 06:40:45 AM
The battle for low cable costs wages on. Time Warner Cable's agreement with WFAA-TV in Dallas/Fort Worth is soon to expire on September 25th. If no agreement is made by that date, all Time Warner Cable viewers will lose WFAA-TV and anywhere else stations that maybe owned by Belo Corp.

WFAA nearly blacked-out their services from Charter Communications almost 2 years ago, not to mention that it's a little complicated for some North Texas residents to pick up WFAA-TV over the air since the DTV switch-over on June 12, 2009, so switching won't help.

Belo made a last mintue deal with Time Warner, so they will not be pulled from the TWC DFW lineup as well as all other Belo O&O stations/networks in other TWC markets

Ok lets make a template for every station dispute that ever occurs:

1. TV Station wants more money
2. Cable company A doesn't want to pay
3. TV Station runs ads, and tells viewers that cable company is evil and bad
4. Cable company says TV Station is selfish and hurting viewers
5. No agreement is made until less than 24hrs before the cutoff date
6. A "last minute" deal is made saving everything
7. Nobody cares

Unless I've gone mental, you've got 1 and 2 reversed...the station wants more money, cable co. doesn't want to pay.
