Title: AT&T U-Verse?
Post by: wxntrafficfan on March 04, 2009, 07:48:02 PM
AT&T U-Verse is springing up in several areas across the country, and is already in the state of Michigan. The cable service, accessed by set-top boxes for each TV, is expected to be widely available in the East Lansing area. I am hoping to be able to get it within the next 12 months, replacing Comcast. When I get it, I will be getting TWC HD as well! I am stoked!  :thrilled:
Can't wait!

I think TWC still says that AT&T does not have IntelliStar units. Watch out.

I wouldn't get U-Verse because there are absolutely no START Units at their headends.

Haven't I already told you you won't get a local forecast with U-Verse? :foolish:

Yes, you have, and I get it now
It's just that I don't know why that is. I am desperate to get away from the arrogant monopoly known as Comcast, and this is not encouraging

I'd switch, but hearing that theres no STAR unit, I've lost my interest. I need to get away from the retched IS22842 Unit... that hunk of crap. It breaks down all the time.

Well, both the 22842 (East Lansing) and the 22840 (Downtown Lansing) units seem to be together with everything. If one is malfunctiong and/or not working properly, the other one doesn't either. I don't know for sure since I can't be in two places at once. Anyway, do you have any idea whose star ID is 22841?  :dunno:
I would imagine AT&T should be getting some star units soon, as they begin to encompass a larger area and provide to more people.

Well, it is true. AT&T has no start units. It still doesn't add up for me, but I hope that they will get some star units before we subscribe to them.

I don't think that's happening in the distant future.

NOT good news. I remain hopeful though that other options open up to me besides Comcast. :)

(sigh) I'd be on U-Verse right now, if my dad wasn't such an idiot to get roped into "free movie channels for 6 months" with Comcast.

Anything to save a buck...

Yeah, it is weird how Comcast sucks people into a "good" deal...
We hope to switch to Verizon FiOS in the next year, and will switch internet as well as phone providers in that time frame as well.

AT&T U-Verse is apparently now available in my zip code, according to TV-Guide. If it wasn't for TWC, we would switch in a hurry  :rofl2: :run:
