"Three for 3 for 3" LF music game
« on: May 11, 2008, 04:16:57 PM »
Given the catchy title "Three for 3 for 3" This game involves the solving of one question, in 3 parts. Each part, in turn, has 3 answers. Each answer, in turn has 3 additional parts, ( 36 total answers) Hence the catchy name. Without further ado. Here is the question

Aside from Holiday Music, There are three unique and separate situations in which TWC has used the same song title, or same artist:

1) Find the only song that was used by the same artist, with three different versions of the same song. Each answer has three parts: a- artist b-album c-when song aired on TWC Hint: This artist released more than 3 CDs

2) Find the only song that was covered by three different artists, with the same main melody. Some knowledge of Classic TWC music (from the late 80s) may be required for the full answer. Again each answer will have three parts : a-artist, b- album where the song is from, c-when used on TWC

3) Find the only song that has the same title that was written by Three different artists, but were not covers, and each song has a different melody. Hint: None of these songs are re-titled, and one of the CD's one of the versions is from has to be purchased from the artist himself (that is, not available from conventional outlets). Once again, each answer will have 3 parts: this time a- artist, b- CD the song is from, c - when used on TWC.

Good luck! Don't rattle your brains too much

I will post the answer if by Next Sunday no one gets the entire riddle

Start by treating each part separately. For example in the first part requires 3 versions of the same song used on TWC by the same artist. Not too many artists have written 3 versions of the same song, and have had all 3 versions used on TWC. Hint: searching the TWC playlists is a good start

No thats not the answer Vic. the first part requires that you find three different versions (three separate songs) with the same title. For example...this is not an answer but just for the sake of example Ryan farish had 2 versions of Holding Faith used on TWC. The reprise was used in 2002 and the version from "Beautiful" used in 2004. Instead of 2 versions, the first part requires "Three" versions. Think of artists that released studio and live versions, and artists who released remixed version. Here is another Hint. Look thru late 2001/early 02 playlists. That might help.

Partially Correct victor. Now you need to get the other two parts to have answered the complete 3 for 3 for 3 riddle. The complete answer requires all parts listed in my first post

Sorry for the double post but my second guess would "The In Crowd". I know Jeff Lorber and Ramsey Lewis composed those songs. Not sure of the third
