I think I may be more impressed with the hail that accumulated 5 inches deep! :blink:  That's incredible - heck, down here, 5 inches of snow is rare.  Accumulating hail like that is a phenomena I would like to observe in person at least once in my lifetime.

I wouldn't exactly call it an outbreak. However, an EF1 did touch down in Garyville, La., in Saint James Parish. Damage was done to the Marathon refinery. No injuries reported.

I'm under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch along with a moderate risk for severe weather this evening. The derecho looks like it's falling apart, but a new line of storms seems to be developing now. I suppose it's a new derecho or MCS developing. :dunno:
