Most of TWC Todays webpage is fully operational and functional. Please post links to pages or content that does not work.
Resolved requests will be marked like this

I am just clicking through the site to see what is out of wack and here is what I found...
Music > Current Music Clips - This directs to a page with the old design. It works at least. Good for now
Music > Classic Music Clips - No link, doesn't go anywhere.
Video > TWC HD - None of the videos on that page work.
Misc. > Link to us - Missing images
The emulator links go nowhere.
-
I'm not sure if the videos aren't on the site anymore, but the following LAT48s #2 videos are missing:
Derek, Alain, and Matt (ErnestoAlert)
The videos could not be located- Martin

Not sure if this has been mentioned or if you know this, Martin, but the
Current Music Clips and Classic Music Clips pages no longer function. When I click on one of them, I get an error like this:
https://twctodayforums.com/index.php /music.php twctodayforums.com 404 Wrong page.
EDIT: Also, just thought I would also mention that several links on various pages (such as the OCM's and Segment Openers) do not work. Hopefully these can be restored. :)

Just curious, but how come when I upload a custom avatar, it won't show up in my profile? :dunno: It's like that on every image that I upload.

I've had that issue too.

The Site map is out of date, that should be updated with the current menus.

I was going to report this problem...lately I've been using picture URLs for my latest avatar.
I just reuploaded my picture and it seems to be working now. yay!

Just some errors I found scaning the site:
- "Classic Music Clips" is unclickable
- Under the reference guide, "FAQ's" and "Glossary of terms" have php errors
- Under misc. the "TWC today stream" has a php error
- If you click on "Current music clips" some of the links on the top and the left side have php errors, also if you click on the "miscellaneous" link at the top it will take you to a part of the site with an xl background with a lot of broken links.

Noted.

I know it did at some point, but nevertheless it would be nice to see back.
Anyway, I noticed that I saw at the end of quote on a post in the playlist discussion.

Nope, we never had that.

I dont remember anything like that either. We could add it sometime. After the forum upgrades it something I could consider

Okay, why hasn't the time on the site adjusted to Daylight Savings Time? It's getting sort of annoying.
Also, whatever happened to the amount of time logged in information that used to appear below your username at the top?

Also, whatever happened to the amount of time logged in information that used to appear below your username at the top?
Go to your profile summary, then choose "Look and Layout" under the "Modify Profile" drop-down menu. Then, find the Time Offset section and click on the link called "auto-detect". It'll change the number in the box to display how many hours to offset the forum time to correctly display your time. Then, go all the way to the bottom-right corner of the page and select "Change Profile". You have to do this every time we change our clocks due to Daylight Saving Time so that your profile settings correctly offset the forum time to your time.
The new upgrade for this forum moved the logged-in time information to your profile stats section. You can find it by going to your profile summary and choosing "Show Stats" under the "Profile Info" drop-down menu. You'll see it right away under "General Statistics". Hope this all helps!

For the time, set it to -1, it takes 1 hour off the forum time (for east coasters only, west coasters like me had to set it to -3)

On the current and classic music clips...
For the letter P, when you want to select just one song, ALL of the songs select, and a random song plays that wasn't what you clicked on. --> This random song is actually the song for the letter O.
Also, for the 0-9, the "Warning...Fatal Error" message comes up.
-
The sig rotator doesnt work. When I tried to upload an image it just says "There seems to be a problem with the setup of Signatures, please inform the Administrator that the images path is not writable. Thank You."

All "local forecast" and "station ID" segments/openers under that section go to a wrong page.
Also Martin, please make the edits to the LAT48's #5 page to my contributions (add my name) and add my Lansing contribution

Seems to be okay now

There was an error with our database but it has been corrected with support from our host. Should be ok now. Report any problems as you see them

Looks like it's broken again, I can't access to any topic.

Looks like it's broken again, I can't access to any topic.
Then how were you able to post here? :whistling2: :P
I guess this is something we'll just have to get used to. Ever since the forums came back, I frequently get "Internet Explorer Cannot Display Webpage" errors when I try to click on a topic, but it goes away after I press back and try again.

You can also refresh. That also works. :)

Seems to be an issue with the host. I've been having issues too. Certain videos won't play all the way through. Likely an issue with memory and/or CPU usage. I imagine they're overpacking servers with their cheap prices and odd unconditional refund policy. I've also noticed that the people responding to my tech support questions are new. :hmm:

Matt its almost comforting to know your going through some similar issues. Means this isn't all problems on my end. I have been tweaking things all day trying to optimize and keep things going.

All database errors should be resolved. Let me know if anyone sees any
-
Not really an "error" or a "problem" but this does irk me.... The twitter mod, when you make a new topic, uses the username you signed up with, not the username you have now... For example: http://twitter.com/TWCToday/status/7322787244 (http://twitter.com/TWCToday/status/7322787244) it uses Mike's username he signed up with instead of "Mike M"... Any way you could possibly fix that? Not urgent, but my OCD says "fix this" >_>
-
More Database Errors. :(
(Although I do see that they are being worked on. :))
-
The errors are fixed as of right now thankfully. Something is going wrong with the host as both TWC forums are having problems. I sure hope everything will get sorted out eventually.
-
No errors since 5pm ET. Tweaked somethings and was able to get our host to increase our memory. Should be ok now. Report any issues

I suppose it's worth mentioning that the bug where slashes occur next to apostrophes when previewing messages in the personal messenger is still occurring... are you guys still looking into this?

Hmm, weird, I don't seem to have this problem

It seems to only occur in the Rich Text Editor which I have enabled.

Here's an example (note the errors in the circles):
I notice on the IE status bar it says "Error on page." Maybe that has something to do with it?
-
I don't get this apostrophe error on Firefox 3.6 and on Internet Explorer 8. I see the same error that Billy mentioned on both browsers, but it's just referring to something about "getElementsByTagName" with something about Facebook, which is completely unrelated to your problem. Are you on an older Internet Explorer, Mike?
-
I don't know, that was my school's browser, not sure what version they use. I do get the same error here at home on Firefox.

Mike, I finally replicated your problem, and it's the PHP coding added backslashes to apostrophes when the Rich Text Editor is enabled. The moment I checked the "Show WYSIWYG editor on post page by default" option, I got your apostrophe error on Firefox and IE. Turn that option off for now on your profile settings.
Martin, you may want to check out these two links I found as they address this exact problem:

Does TWC Today support Google Chrome? The TV Media teacher recommended using Google Chrome, and I've been giving it a try the past 24 hours or so. When I hold down alt and press "s" to submit a post, I get a ding on my computer, as if I pressed an incorrect key. However, alt-p, to preview the posts, works fine.

Not sure if every shortcut or whatnot is supported but the forum and site work just fine with it. I have been using Chrome for months now

It's incredibly annoying, as I always type alt-s when posting. Is there anything that can be looked into?

Its really not a problem on my end. SMF has a ticket for it so perhaps with the next update. If I have some time I can try to find where those commands are stored and add it

Interesting...the squares are gone from the forum. Everything is all stars now. This isn't really a problem, just wanted to point it out and didn't know where else to put it. :P

Probably because there aren't squares for every group. I noticed that the Site Designer group uses yellow stars instead of green like it's supposed to. Might wanna fix that. Also, is there any reason why the color codes for the content editor and site designer groups were swapped?
-
I will look in to the site designer star color. I swapped the two out of boredom tbh... I'm trying to think of another color instead of lime as it's hard to see. These issues will be fixed by the weekend at the latestm

Just need some more colors for the new squares. Stars are just temporary

I could make some if needed.

Maybe a dark Blue/Green?
-
Dark blue would match the meteorologist group color. We have a dark green color already. I was probably thinking maybe brown.
-
Well, do you guys want me to create squares that use all the star colors? I'm pretty good with the magic wand tools and all of that.

They should be the same color as the text color basically...

I had that once, too.

We will be going to RC3 soon. Hope that will solve some of the problems

Yeah, that happens to me too. <_< But the problem is only present in Internet Explorer...it doesn't happen in Firefox, and I don't know about other browsers.

Only IE and certain versions if I recall. We will upgrade to RC3 AFTER TWC changes to keep disrupted service to a minimum.
-
I had the issue with the scroll bar going up to the top while typing a reply or PM all the time. I noticed it was an error with IE 8. If you use an earlier version, or another browser, you should be fine. I changed to Google Chrome for that reason.
Anyways, is there something wrong with attachments? I keep getting this:
-
There have been a few issues since before the upgrade that we were hoping would fix themselves when we did upgrade. Evidently not. Martin and/or Stephen will have to take a look at it. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
-
What type of attachments are you trying? I just tested three types of files and they worked. I use chrome too. It wasnt working before the upgrade.
-

Yeah, I think they are working now. I was trying a snapshot I took of the LDL messing something up. Then I tried attaching a snapshot of the error in this thread. Both are jpg files.

What did you do to the mobile version of the site (wap2)? Every single link keeps taking me to the full version of the forums, which is horrendous on mobile phones and laggy... Please fix it.

Same over here with my phone. It's crappy, couldn't access it this morning when I was on my way to school.
-

Thanks for bringing this issue up Jesse. I tried goin on TWCT wap2 with my DSi this morning and it took me to the full version too, which was also lagging me and it also locked up my DSi.
-
I can confirm that it's only when you access the WAP2 format of the main forum and click on a board that it takes you incorrectly to the full version. If you add what I have in quotes, "?wap2", to the end of the URL when viewing a board, then it all works just fine to view all the posts and reply to any of them until you head back out to the main part of the forum and select another board. I've put this information here so that Martin and Jesse have something to work with and fix the problem.
-
Its not the URL rewrite mod. Something I will look into
-
Looks like the mobile version is now working. test post......
-
Nope... not for me. Still have to tack on the ;wap2 myself....
-
yes same as Jesse (took me a while to figure out that URL trick :P)
-
Thats a annoying. Trying to see if its a known SMF issue
-
When I signed on with my iphone sometimes I would see something like "Switch to iPhone" but it didn't do anything when I'd tap it.
-
The theme was disabled during the merge as it's corrupt and not compatible with RC3... trust me... If you would have switched to it, you would have been locked out of your account in a sense, and wouldn't be able to switch back without an administrator's help. Still waiting for an update at which point Martin would reenable... your best temporary relief is to tack on a ;wap2 on your urls for the lite version.

On the Local Forecast Videos 1982-1999
the XL and 3000/Jr links go nowhere
-
I noticed a lot of times when people try to show Youtube videos on the forums, this error pops up next to the link:
Embedding disabled, limit reached
Any solution to this?
-
To my knowledge this only happens in playlist topics when people post a lot of youtube videos in a row. Its ideally meant so all of the flash players dont overload your browser and crash it. I could bump it up a little
-
Hmm, for some reason I am not able to view the last page in "The Front Porch." I am able to view the 768th page, but the last one. So, I made a post that said "test test test" to see if it would take me back to the last page after I posted, and it did not, it just showed a white screen, just like it did when I clicked on the last page. Anyone else having a problem?

Its on the the 769th page. Why I have no idea. I bumped the front porch to the next page and its working fine now. you just cant access the 769 page (which now is mostly test posts)

Can you tell me how to get there Martin? I have it set so that I view 25 posts per page, and I can't view any of the posts from the 462nd page.

So, I made a post that said "test test test" to see if it would take me back to the last page after I posted, and it did not, it just showed a white screen, just like it did when I clicked on the last page. Anyone else having a problem?
I get a blank page every time i try to access the front porch

Its on the the 769th page. Why I have no idea. I bumped the front porch to the next page and its working fine now. you just cant access the 769 page (which now is mostly test posts)
;)
I don't understand the Front Porch problem. Is 769 and evil number or something? Hopefully there are no "missing" posts, but it looks like page 770 is just a lot of Mike going "test." :P
-
There weren't any missing posts in the Front Porch if I used the "recent posts" option. Something strange happened this afternoon between 3 PM and 5 PM as there were no posts made and no new people coming online to the forum. It doesn't have to do with page 769 but rather a time window where I wonder if the server or something went down. Everything does seem to work if you're viewing outside of that time window.
-
We may end up opening a new Front Porch sometime soon anyway. Ill be investigating the error. Could be someone posted something right as there was a database glitch which caused some problem
-
Pages 764-769 were all page 231 for me (due to the settings I use). I think it had to do with the post numbers as opposed to pages. I don't think it's that big of a deal anymore that we would have to open a new thread. It's not like we lost anything valuable. Let's just see if this happens again...
-
OK, if the forums are under renovation, I'll calm down. :) But as of now, I can't edit or delete posts and can't post new topics in any subforum.  What is going on? (This happens on BOTH themes, by the way. ;))
Also, I am always getting the error message: Your session timed out while posting. Please try to re-submit your message. I know this comes up once in awhile, but I have been frequently getting this over the past couple of weeks or so. Could it be something with my computer?
-
Ive experienced none of those issues. Could anyone please verify if they have or have not gotten similar errors?
-
My posts cannot be removed or edited.

that's weird...i just used these features yesterday. my post can't be edited or deleted as well.
-

same thing is happening on my end just like Andy
-
I can't modify or delete posts either.
-
Well Martin, since you're an admin, maybe you or some other administrator accidentally turned off these regular-member privileges. I would say it's not a problem, but I can't make new topics either.
-
I can't edit or delete posts either.....and I actually need to right now because in the Trammell Sightings thread, I posted a video before it was processed and I left a message saying "(Video is not processed)". It is still up as I am typing this......what do I do? :dunno:
-
Someone removed *A LOT* of permissions from the posting groups in the admin panel, thus nobody can edit or delete their posts... The admins need to have a chat with each other and figure out what happened.

the post error that Andy has mentioned is due to cookies. Clear them, and up the minutes on the cookie counter and see if it happens.

Thank you Martin, Jesse, and any other admins! :D All problems are fixed!!!

The forum keeps randomly logging me out every few hours on both of my computers, and I have it set so I'm logged on forever. Anyone else having this issue?

It probably depends on your browser. I have the same issue as well, but I don't mind logging in every time I visit.
-

Cookies. Clear them. Cache. Clear that too. Close your browser. Open your browser. Go back to the forums and try again. If that doesn't help, you seem to be the only one affected as I'm still logged in both of my machines.
-
um, is the calendar suppose to have a green bg? it kinda clashes with the forum :P
-
lol yea but we can remove that
-
I noticed that when logged out, the login box in the upper right corner of the forums has absolutely no text to describe what the three fields are for. I basically had to guess that the first two were for username/password. No clue what the third box is for.

I noticed this as well... This seems to be an easy fix to do in the templates. I, or Tyler, will look in to it asap.

Yeah, I've wondered what the third box is, too. It certainly is not required for the log-in process.

Where do you guys get your weather data from? Right now, it is showing "Thunder Storms" for Southaven, but the nearest Thunderstorm is 2 counties away. :dunno:
EDIT: Now, is says "Partly Cloudy", but it never rained, or thundered for that matter.

-
The data is from HAMweather which gets data from the NWS and conditions are pulled in from the closest airport to your set location

At your location, the closest airport happens to be the one at Memphis, TN. Yes, I looked it up.

In my profile, the pin on the map is off the coast of Africa ( :o ) instead of in Chicago, IL. Why is this, and what can I do to fix it?

I think this means you haven't set your pin yet because your pin doesn't show up on the "Master Member Map." ;) To add a pin, go to your profile and under "forum profile," find the United States and place your pin where you want to.
BTW, we have a couple of misplaced pins on the big member map. I didn't realize a couple of our members lived in the Atlantic Ocean! :P

If you just click on the map before setting your pin, it will default your location to the ocean location. I have gone in and manually changed a bunch of members but it is so easy to do more keep appearing. Its easy to correct if you notice it but a good portion of the members who have it pinned out there aren't too active.
-
Thanks! I just changed my location. How silly of me! :bleh: I guess we learn something new every day.
-
The reason that pin is placed by default in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean just beneath the African coast is because that's where the latitude and longitude is exactly zero. When you move a pin to your location, you're actually putting in a latitude and longitude.

Probably because too many people were posting the same topics elsewhere in the forums or made topics that could belong to another topic previously posted. I agree with this decision though, it helps keep down topics that might otherwise fit in the General LF, TWC Discussion boards, The Front Porch, etc.

I also have a feeling it is also a spam prevention technique until the next SMF update, because spam has really increased dramatically in the last few weeks...
-
I assure you it was not intentional. I am very annoyed at how the changes were made.

That's not the code for that emoticon. It should be rofl2 with a colon before and after it. Keep in mind that you being on a Mac might be a factor here as most things are designed for PCs. You can always click on the graphical emoticons themselves and see the codes being shown when you preview your post.

I'm having trouble staying logged into the forums. Every time I come back after some time of not being here (usually a few hours), I have to log back into the forums. I do use the actual logon page and I am sure to click the "always stay logged in" box. I've also cleared my cookies.

I'm having the same problem. It usually happens when I click the "check all threads as read" button. I login and then it says there was a problem with the session. :dunno:
-
Thats a new one  I haven't experienced it personally but I'll run a few checks to make sure things are ok. If it persists after today let us know and I might have to submit a bug report to SMF.
-
A few issues:
The Valentine's Day logo is still up on the TWCT site.
Every time I go off of the page for any amount of time (i.e., 3 minutes), I am logged out. I always click "stay logged in". The funny thing is that when I come back, I do not have to input anything into the fields. I click "login" (without ANY text in the box) and it will log me in. It will also log me in if I click on a thread, again without any text in the box.
-

Submit a report. I've noticed this for over a week now.
The Valentine's Day logo is still up on the TWCT site.
Not a bug - Purposely done.
-
Guys, just so you all know, Jesse is always all over the logos and knows when to change them and how long to keep them up, so this should never be an issue. ;)
Thanks for your hard work, Jesse.
-
Didn't Jesse mention somewhere that the logo rotation is suspended till further notice? I swear I read it somewhere.
-
I'm having the login issue as well.
-
Wow so apparently SMF forums are coming under attack and this is a safety measure to protect the forum. Bots have target this forum (among thousands of other SMF forums) and are using each username to attempt to gain access. After a certain number of failed attempts a user is logged out if they have been signed in. This may be why its happening to select members at different intervals. A newer version of the forums has been released with a fix and we are working to rapidly roll this out.
-
Any update on this? It now happens every time I visit. Really annoying. Makes me not want to visit. :hmm:

Release Candidate 5 of SMF 2.0 has been released, and is currently being prepped for update. Right now, with Martin's hectic college schedule, it will be at least a week before the upgrade is complete. The update, when it is being applied, will happen late night, as to not affect activity as badly. We will keep you posted.
-
This isn't happening to me at all. Is it only with select users?

RC5 is just the security patch and SMF provided a patch for RC4. I will probably just be doing that so we don't have to bother upgrading everything
These bot attacks do probably explain why the forums have been painfully slow at times
-
As with Matt, I'm now the log-in error every time I log in.
-

I've definitely seen the attacks on logs here, so I'll keep an eye on the accounts in case one of these stupid bots actually does some harm.
If anything happens to your account by these bots, please contact an admin promptly. Having a good password should prevent most problems. I haven't noticed any problems on my end as I always log in and log off manually, but I realize that's a more inconvenient way of doing it.
-
I haven't had a log-in problem in weeks.
HOLY CRAP. I JUST JINXED MYSELF.

Hopefully the upgrade fixed this

God damn bots. Yes we are still under attack. I cant ban the IPs since there are so many. I will have to add some forum security mods

-
I think it's best if we change our passwords again. Right?
If it's complex enough already, then you should be fine. I have to use a really strict password just for at work to use the government computers. I can always use it as a last resort no matter where I go. :P
-
Account safety really should be fine as long as its not a really simple word. It seems the attacks are meant to be more of a nuisance than threat.
-
Here's a question... Why do I only have trouble logging in from a computer, but I never get that login error if I view TWCT on my phone? And it has nothing to do with the mobile version of the site because I have it set to automatically take me to the full site.
-

Sorry about this Tyler. :( I have taken some steps to try and block these bots but still some are getting through. I went over the error logs again and noticed you are oddly one of the biggest targets. A bot hits your account about 2-3 times every few hours. There are a couple other members getting hit but not as numerous as you. I have no clue why thats occurring. :dunno: I will keep looking into ways to prevent this from occurring.

Sometimes, that does happen randomly. I haven't noticed anything on my end today though. Maybe the host server was temporarily down or something.

Might have been. The forum and our host do short maintenance cycles every now and then usually in the morning hours. If the problem persists for more than an hour please report it to us again

When I modify my posts sometimes, the original post is left untouched but the modification only shows up in a reply box at the bottom of the page
-
That's perfectly normal. You just need to modify the post and add in your correction. Then click "save". You'll see that your post is now modified.

Is that logout tab suppose to be next to the date/time or is that an error?
-
Is that logout tab suppose to be next to the date/time or is that an error?
It's because the Rules tab was added, so there are now more tabs on top that are overflowing toward the date/time. Martin can take a look, but I don't know how much can be fixed here.

If I could make a suggestion to help with the overflow...
Remove the "IRC Chat" tab, because I don't know what that is and always get an error message when I try to open it.
Also, you can probably remove the "Calendar" tab since it can be accessed from the bottom of the home page.

I think we could delete a few of those. We should let the others voice an opinion here in case there are more that could be considered.
-
I agree about the calendar; it seems a bit redundant to have a link up top and then have another link with more detailed information in the bottom. And the IRC chat hasn't worked for me anytime I've clicked it.
BTW, and I know it'll be fixed once we delete some stuff, but the "Logout" tab kinda sneaked down next to the current date and time. :P

Yeah, that's the whole reason why a couple of those tabs need to be removed. ;)
-
See, this is what happens when you don't read the previous posts. My bad! :P
EDIT: Looks like something got removed. Logout back in it's spot.

I found a mod on SMF to hide some of the buttons. The calendar button has been hidden successfully. I can also hide a few others if they are requested. For example, is the search button really needed when there is a search bar at the top? I have also added the Users Logged In Today mod at the bottom of the forum.

No, please keep the search button. I use that far more since it's much more advanced than the search bar at the top. For example I often search posts by user or during a specific time period or subforum. I do, however, think that the IRC tab should be removed. I think most of us know how to get on the IRC, and those who don't can always check the main site.
Also, don't forget about the IM client mods that I reminded you guys awhile back (Skype, Gtalk, etc).

To respond to what Mike said, the search button should definetely say because that automatically takes you to the "advanced" search. Often time the bar at the top doesn't work for me anyway, saying "Your last search was less than 5 seconds ago. Please try again." even when I put something in for the first time!
Even though the overflow is not a problem anymore, I really think the "IRC Chat" should be removed. It never works, and I see no use for wasted tabs.

How is it not working? It's a Java applet so you may need to authorize it to be used. Also, I agree with you in a way because hardly anyone here has actually visited the chat, regardless of joining the Ustream chat (the one on the IRC Chat tab) or the more active chat (possibly going to be made official if Martin approves) on my server.

Whew, here's a big update to address everyone on the forum issues:
- I have removed the IRC Chat button and mod. We can provide a way to reach our chat in the future, or you can just ask a member who regularly goes there if you have your own IRC client.
- I have also placed the Calendar as a sub-menu choice under the "Today" button on the top menu bar, because the Upcoming Calendar can disappear if they are no holidays, birthdays, or events coming up within a week.
- I have installed the Enhanced PM Pop-up mod. A pop-up box will appear if you have a new PM and allow you to go to your inbox. However, this feature is not on by default for some members. If you want to have this turned on for you, go to your profile settings, find Personal Messaging under your Modify Profile drop-down button, and check on the "Show a popup when I receive new messages" option.
- Mike, I tried to install the Google Talk and Skype profile field mods a few moments ago, but they both failed due to some file compatibility issues. I don't think that I'll be able to fix them.
I only have one last question for everyone: Do any of you still use the Help button or the Member Map button on the top menu bar?

Nope.
-
I don't think I've ever touched the Help button. The Member Map I've looked at a few times, but if I want to find a member, I'll just use the list.

No, I do not use either of them.

I have removed the Help button. It only explained how to use the SMF forum in general. I'm going to leave the Member Map button up as I would have to completely remove the member map mod to do it, and I feel there are some members who still use the map. Thanks for all the feedback, everyone! I hope the forum is now in better shape for you all. B)

Yes thats why they were never put back. Plus they caused a few nasty issuse.

That stays

Thanks, Martin. I hope you saw my PM as there's only one small internal issue to fix as a result of my actions. You'll have to take care of it as I cannot access the files for this site.

Yep I'll get on that. Long as the issue isn't visible its not too much a problem. Still best to fix it before we upgrade since it gets messy sometimes

I've been having a hard time getting into the forum this morning. The page takes a long time to load, if at all. It took four tries to log in: the first one rejected my password, and the second and third tries timed out. Once I'm finally in, though, navigation seems to be normal.

It seems to be fine now. I'm not sure why you had issues this morning unless the host server was acting up again.
-
Navigation, especially when trying to post, is slow to extremely slow right now. At least for me.

There are just some days when this forum runs really slowly, and unfortunately, I don't think there's much of an explanation to it.
What I don't understand is why you don't just stay logged in forever, so you don't have to deal with signing in and out every time you visit (unless you feel unsafe with doing this).

Might be your connection. I never have any troubles here. At least nothing consistent.

I do try.
My Ubuntu computer lets me stay logged in forever, but my Windows computer, for whatever reason, ignores that and makes me log in every single time I come to the forum.

Did you click on the login tab on the forum and select "Always stay logged in"?

Every time.

Are you allowing your browser to keep the cookies from this site all the time? If you delete the cookies, that option won't be saved for you the next time you try to log in. Unfortunately, I can't think of anything else that could explain it.

Yes, cookies are saved. I'm sure if I dug deeply enough I'd find the problem, but I just don't have the time or patience for that right now. I can live with simply logging in every time. At least my browser saves the login information.

I've been getting some loading issues over the past 24-48 hours on the forums, just like what happened last July... :hmm:
-
I've also been experiencing loading issues. Seems to have cleared up tonight some.
-
I'm starting to have the "stayed logged in" problem as well.
though, I just got a new laptop, but it seems to only be on this site.
suggestions?
-
Martin, you'll have to look into the issues that the members above are experiencing. Sadly, I cannot find any explanations other than host server issues.
-
Not a problem on our end
-
Hopefully you can look into this again.. they're a little worse for me this evening
-
I had this problem several months back but since I switched to Chrome I had no issues with logins to this day

That's my browser too and the same issue that happened months ago is happening to me again. My browser is also up to date as well

I think it has something to do with adding "www." at the beginning of the forum URL.
just do https://twctodayforums.com/forums, (https://twctodayforums.com/forums,) seemed to have worked for me.
-
I dont use www.twctodayforums.com/forums (http://www.twctodayforums.com/forums) and never have

Weird. I've never paid attention until now, but so do I. :dunno:

Again not an issue on our end. Likely because we are on a shared server some other site on the server gets heavy traffic at times.

Even at that page you are still logged in. Its just not reflecting on that page. Might be something to do with the layout.
-
Problems seemed to have resolved on my end.
-
Maybe I'm alone here, but I think it's time to take down the St. Patrick's Day banner. :)
-
Its always St Pattys day around here :P
Sorry I had a bunch of exams and projects earlier this week. Done

Neither (http://no-www.org/) do I...
Also, in the main site, in the Firefox extension Pentadactyl (http://5digits.org/pentadactyl/), it does not allow me to use the CSS navigation menus with the hints feature. I just thought you should be aware of this:

Thanks for the heads up. Thats odd

This is not something that is fixable I'm afraid. It's neither the extension's or our fault. It's just how CSS is in today's world. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Is the signature rotator mod by chance available in the current version of SMF?

Sadly no. It hasn't been updated
