Since a lot of us have been taking weather related photos lately, why not create a sticky topic in the general weather area so we can post all of our pics that we take. This way the Front Porch (commonly used to post them) won't get soo cluttered. Anyone like this idea or have any other suggestions/comments?

This has been my future suggestion ever since most of us started posting incredible weather pics at the Porch. That would be an amazing idea. I'd say go for it. Most of the pics, especially Martin's and Aaron's, are pretty. They deserve to be in a separate thread.

Do it. Nao.
/me whips Martin
:bleh: lol

Good idea :)

It's a wonderful idea. Why didn't I think of it sooner? I've seriously been considering other ideas for the weather section like a forecasting contest or a severe weather story thread. You all can tell me if you want to think about these ideas further. Martin, I would advise to have people attach their images as thumbnails unless there's just one properly-sized picture in a post so that the resulting thread doesn't become a nightmare to load.
-
Thumbnails are actually created automatically if people use the upload feature that's integrated onto the post creator, which I recommend.

Good idea, Martin! :twothumbs: We should do this right away. That way, it will also be easier to find pictures after awhile. :D

Thats going to be one of the rules. ;)

I am for this idea! It is a great one. Maybe it will motivate me to take a few pics (I need to invest in a camera.. :P).

There already has been one (https://twctodayforums.com/forums/general-weather-chat/weather-pictures/). ;) :P

You may want to re-summarize that so people know it's open to everyone rather than just for Tampa.

I guess the idea wasn't popular then.

Opposite effect for me. I have my reasons for posting the images. As they are, their resolutions are over 3000x1500. I have to upload them to imageshack (which shrinks them), and then embed them here. I can't (nor will I) upload the pics, save a copy of the shrunk file, and then post it here. Too much work, and if people can't handle 800x600 pictures, then I suppose it's not worth sharing anything on here.
