Weather conditions
« on: September 03, 2011, 12:25:02 AM »
I know that the weather conditions disappeared due to an error during the latest upgrade, but are there any plans to bring them back?  It was very interesting to see what the weather is where our members are posting from.

Hmmm, I just noticed they were gone.  When did this happen?
....and on a day where I actually got up to 98F today - the warmest day of the year and it happened in September!  Three degrees shy of a record high, too.

I believe it's been gone for almost a month now. I think they would have fixed it already. But I'm still hoping they'll bring it back.

Long Island, August-September 2012 tornadoes, Hurricane Sandy, Blizzard of 2013, how many places on Earth do you know can get all 3 of those events within a 6 month period?

Martin will have to look into restoring it.  Obviously, the forum upgrade disrupted this item, but I don't know anything else beyond this fact.

Reviving an old topic...

The weather conditions box has lately been showing a broken link rather than the conditions.  Is there anything that can be done about that?

I don't see this problem on my end. Likely the deal is that the page will "time out" when it loads, showing a bunch of images that look broken but in fact just haven't loaded.

This happens with a lot of webpages, so I don't think it's a problem that can be fixed. Just try reloading the page. ;)

Yeah... it works about half the time right now.  Anyway, thanks for looking into it!

Hmm every so often a new image is generated with updated conditions. It typically happens once an hour so. Keep me updated

I haven't had a problem either. Then again, I rarely visit more than twice a day. And even then it's usually only for a second. :)
