Is there something wrong with the ads on this forum? Google Chrome is giving me phishing warnings every time I try to open up a thread.

As far as I'm aware there aren't any ads on these forums, but I think certain hosts for some signatures are causing problems today.

I haven't seen a single ad here in years.

Hey everyone, I would deeply like to apologize about what had happened.. apparently the dyn hostname dyndns-work.com got flagged for malware and I didn't realize it.. trust me, there is no malware on my server, and for now, I have changed out the address to my other Dyn hostname. Hopefully that stopped the malware warnings. As for why I am just now responding to this, I have been lying in bed all day with several fevers. Hopefully that clears everything up.

Yeah, I haven't been seeing that pop up anymore since early this afternoon. Also I hope you get well soon.

Thanks for the update and for the fix. I just got worried for a second.
(And "ads" was just a knee-jerk response... 99% of the time, that's what it is.)

I think he was speaking in general. Most of the times when you see false phishing warnings or similar alerts on a site, it's usually caused by a rogue ad of some sort.

Providing an update and to add on to what Zach has mentioned, I did a thorough search of all the files on the /home/twctoday folder on our host, and everything is coming up virus and malware free. If anything else appears, please let us know! Thanks you guys

Oh, okay. Yes, that's definitely true. I've gotten viruses from doing image searches on Google. :club:

TWC Today is an ad free site. With users linking to outside sources in their signatures sometimes these things do happen. If it becomes a common occurrence outside linked images may have to be prohibited from signatures

There's a way to alleviate this matter if you don't like viewing links from signatures all the time. Go to Modify Profile within your profile settings, and choose Look and Layout. Halfway down you can check the box next to "Don't show users' signatures." That setting will allow you to browse the threads without viewing everyone's signatures. You'll still be able to view signatures if you click on individual member profiles, which is what I prefer. It's your choice if you want that setting on, but all of you should ensure your signatures are safe if you have external links in them.

That shouldn't be required to alleviate this matter. There should be no problem at all and if there is steps will need to be taken. But for those who don't want to see any signatures you can still choose that method.
