"The Weather Channel launches a new weekend morning lineup on Saturday. The most notable addition, “Weekend Recharge,” is hosted by Maria LaRosa and Paul Goodloe. The new show is expected to offer a unique perspective of the week ahead, along with suggestions on how to take advantage of the weekend.

“Weekend Recharge” airs Saturday and Sunday at 9amET, following “AMHQ Weekend,” which began in early February with hosts Kait Parker and Reynolds Wolf alongside expert Dr. Greg Postel.

LaRosa has a new segment called “Momerology” in which she teams up with mom bloggers to help parents jump start their day. Goodloe also has his own new segment, “Weekend in Play, in which examines how weather will impact the sports scheduled for that particular weekend."

It's kind of a strange name... I'm interested to see how much of the show will be weather and how much will be other feature segments. Does it start this weekend? I wonder if they'll start running promos for it, or do they only do that for Sam and Jim?

Also, wasn't Mike Bettes supposed to get his own weeknight show premiering this month?

Aside from that, "Weekend Recharge" sounds kind of tacky.  They would of been better off just bringing back Weekend Outlook, Weekend View, or Weekend Now.

I'd say the show is decent so far. They're using the morning rush music, and the intro sequences and graphics look really nice. Paul and Maria are sitting at a new desk in front of the 4x4 video wall near the AMHQ area. I don't really like the set-up too much; it looks kind of cheap. It's pretty weather-focused, although Maria did a "Momerology" segment with her kids about Pi day. The "seven day stretch" is pretty interesting; they go through the seven day forecast in-depth and at one point they even tossed to a NECN meteorlogist who gave a quick forecast for New England. Paul and Maria have decent chemistry, and I'm sure they'll get better with time.

TWC really needs some help. 2 years ago they decide to consolidate most of their shows into WCL, and then they decide to split it into new titles again.

Guys, be a little bit excited. I mean; at least it's a weekend live show that isn't a part of Weather Center Live, also; Weekend Recharge is using the Morning Rush theme.

Lest we forget that they did the same thing in the late 90s, up through the early 2000s, which spawned shows such as First Outlook, Your Weather Today, Day Planner, etc....... It's cyclical.

Bettes is in for Paul Goodloe. Crazy to see Mike and Maria hosting an AM show again, complete with the Morning Rush music.

That's exactly what I thought! The graphics in both openers look fairly similar.
