From USA Today
"Weather Channel wants you to keep your head in the clouds on Election Day"
The station hopes to draw Americans away from yammering political pundits and potentially terrifying election results by broadcasting a nine-hour marathon of "the most beautiful, awe-inspiring, and calming weather video and scenery ever caught on tape," it said in a press release Tuesday.

I get the idea, but do they need to cancel WCL & WUTV for this? Since when is Election Day a holiday? If they started this after WUTV, I would love it but canning Live coverage for this bothers me.
-
Is this for real? The idea sounds like something the Onion might post.
-
Hmmm, this oughta be interesting. Anything to get me as far away as possible from all the tiresome political garbage, I guess.

Well, here's the press release, so I guess it's real. Believe me, I was skeptical too when I first saw.

I can't believe that y'all jumped right over the fact they are playing smooth jazz with it.

I'm jumping with joy right now. I must say, this is probably one of the most brilliant ideas TWC has come up with.
-
Can't tell if this is the start of something good or bad..
-
Wow.
-
Well, I know what I'm doing on elections day. Stay the heck away from Politics and watch some TWC and cartoons.
-
I can't say anything. I have no words..
-
I saw a promo for it this morning, sounds like the smooth jazz is just going to be same tracks they've been using during smooth jazz days, not that that's a problem.
-
The Weather Channel is going into Longform Mode at 3:00PM Eastern Time.
-
Is there ANY possibility or rumor that they may play any of the "Trammel Starks" smooth jazz songs from the 1996 to 1997 era tommorow during this 9 hour special??
I would LOVE that so much to death if they play any of those songs from him back in the old weather channel days.
just ONE even. That's my true hope.
-
I'm watching the marathon as I speak. It looks so peaceful and calming, especially with all of the soothing piano music. There are ad breaks during as usual. The LDL is the long-form version, and the best part is, there are LFs on every 8s of the hour, not just at :18.
-
Can someone post what songs they are playing and record a video? I don't get TWC and this is something unusual.
-
Why is there not 1 single song ever with saxaphone/saxphinists ?? :( Is it because it's only just all feeded from this website which is displayed in the topright corner once per returning from commericial breaks
https://naturevisiontv.com/
so The Weather Channel has no control at all over the background songs ??
This wasnt what i expected at all. dang. :(
-
Here's an excerpt video I recorded from the first hour:
! No longer available (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNede66ucnY#)
-
I had no idea about this. I caught it around 7:47pm until 11:00pm ct.

I don't think those songs will be heard on TWC EVER again. :(
