Title: Overnight Outlook
Post by: Travis on December 25, 2007, 03:57:16 PM
I personally think overnight outlook was a good show its better then showing re-runs of evening edition. Or those other shows.

Overnight Outlook was one of the few (actually, the only) segment I liked.

All those shows during the overnight ours are re-runs. Except for First Outlook.

First Outlook is early morning, not overnight. That's why its live and not taped.

Just to clarify, the 12:00 AM ET and 1:00 AM ET hours of Evening Edition West Coast are live, then they are repeated at 2:00 AM ET and 3:00 AM ET, respectively.

Does anyone have any Overnight Outlook footage? I never saw this show live (along with Weekend Outlook), mainly since I wasn't up that late often back then.

Here's the bottom of the hour segment from the morning of November 4, 2003 featuring Sandra Diaz. It starts out with the satellite LF from that era (which I actually don't remember that well), and the end of the national segment features the ETF; this was the final look of the ETF that lasted until it was retired along with OO in September 2005. I'm pretty sure someone here or on TWCC once asked if anyone had a video of the final look of the ETF. I wasn't sure if I had it, but apparently here it is.

Ohh, thanks so much, Steve. I was looking for ETF videos/screenshots.

That's a good song. One of my favorites from this decade.  :sunglasses:

What is the song on the ETF? If the ETF at that time used the same playlist as the local forecasts, then it would have to be either Kevin Eurbanks, Eddie Reasoner, or David Becker. I hope it's not either of those artists, or there's yet another unavailable song that I'd like. :(

I didn't even know they had an ETF! That was unique! It sounded like Kevin Eubanks to me.

Also Spring Rubber, do you have any more local forecast clips around that time?

Sure, and I have a bunch of programs I recorded that day and the following day, including FO, AO, PME, and EE. I plan on posting an EE video soon; let me know if there's anything else you'd like.

I'm interested in the Afternoon Outlook clips. I've seen very little AO footage other than what I have on tape.

Mike, I believe have some AO tapes from September 2006 (including the second-to-last episode) if you're interested.
