Why would Day Planner get a new set when all shows from Atlanta use the same studio?

My guess is Day Planner is going to be replaced with the new talk show format in 2013.
They have the Digital Media Center studio with the couch and chairs they can use.
I think he meant a new set of graphics

In that case I agree and the whole thing is odd.
Some shows have new logos and animated intros, some have the same logos and intros.

All shows have a new lower third graphic with red sides and a live bug that is red and that does match the color scheme of the shows graphics.
Plus the show name at the bottom left on the LDL does not use the show logo or font.

Here's the extra graphics on the lower third when the LDL is off,

IMHO, these new graphics are tacky. Their colors do not match, the use of strange objects, mismatched text styles... it's just all very unappealing to me.

The constantly red lower 3rd doesn't really appeal to me; it seems to fit better with the WUWA graphics they just nixed (minus the red color). The others, while graphically "unified" look kind of slapped together. Still on the fence.

It would've been smart to have different graphics for each new show instead of the same red L3rds.

I think why they are still using the red colored L3s is due to Sandy's aftermath.

It doesn't make sense to have them on non-Sandy or non-severe weather pieces, though.

I think "Sandy aftermath" coverage has been over for awhile, so I can't see why they would still be using red L3rds for that reason.  Didn't things go back to normal before the switch to the new graphics?

But, agreeing with everyone else, if they are indeed using red L3rds for all shows, all the time, that's just absurd.  It no longer gives "uniqueness" to the different shows, and most importantly, what the heck are they going to use for their "heightened alert" modes?

Their overuse is probably to make it seem that everything is "breaking news".... it's not the best approach.
