As I understand it, TWC in Hawaii went away during the early part of this decade, but they were brought back at the start of either 2007 or 2008 - can't remember which.
Had to had been at least 2007. IIRC, Derek posted pictures of the Hawaii IntelliStar from Summer 2007. The 4000 indeed had no radar, but I'm not sure if that's still the case with the IntelliStar.

Hawaii has had TWC for a number of years. Dan once posted videos of Hawaii's 4000 from 1998(ish, sans radar, since at the time they didn't have one).

The doppler radar was used for government purposes in Hawaii, right? So, did they have a "Local Radar Unavailable" message in the 4000, or did it have a flavor that did not include the local radar?

If my memory serves me correctly they substituted the radar from Washington (State).

I understand that Steve. My point was, yes they have TWC, and no its not necessarily a recent phenomenon.

Gary's right. The 4000's radar came from Washington state.

I highly doubt anyone will be moving from their shifts. Just take A&B, Evening Edition, and slap on the Weather Center graphics. That's all I see happening in this change.

they'll most likely change the weather center graphics and give it more of an evening feel.

I really think one hour a day ought to be a maximum for these long-form shows.  One hour a week would be far more desirable like what they did back in the 90's.

The Forecast Earth show is gone, so that's one good thing about this schedule.

I can't imagine TWC getting good numbers with excessive reruns of FFN/ICHT/WWCH.

Guess what,

Now anyone would bet they would not care to watch TWC  long-form block between 2-5 on the weekends

Definitely not me

I really hope they don't touch the weekday morning schedule...if they mess with First Outlook or Your Weather Today I swear to God....and I was just thinking, did TWC make the show opener graphics or did they hire a company? I know HotHaus Creative made the EE opener, so could they possibly be losing money if they scrapped the show openers for A&B, EE, WO, etc?(if they were made outside TWC)
