We are experiencing technical difficulties with our live broadcast. We apologize for any inconvenience while we resolve this issue.
-
came back on saying it was a software attack, and seem to still be on a partial setup, even the main "L" bar is out of commission
-
Day two of the TWC technical difficulties and the local LDL has been pulled, National LDL has lost all data and TWC is still in the IBM studio with limited use of the Lab.
It’s been reported that the attack on TWC was ransomware, so it might be a while until TWC is back up and running.
-
i wonder if TWC had any plans on a graphics overall since the current graphics are either 5 to 3 years old as they relaunched iin late fall 2013 and updated some of the graphics in 2015 or 2016.
cause this ransomware attack may force any graphics overhaul pay to happen early if they did had a graphic update planned in the next 3 to 6 months
-
The Local on the 8s and local LDL are back as of 3:18PM ET.
-
Weatherscan's observations and forecasts are back but still no radar information.
-
Watching Weather Underground and they are having one heck of a time with the radars....
-
Checked this morning and the locals are out again, LDL and full-screen. It sounds like the ransomware attack really did damage to the software that produces the locals, given there's only been one LF that appeared since the hack. Hopefully this gets resolved soon if not later.
-
I was able to see some of the programming after the hack. In the 5 years I have actively watched anyways, I have never seen TWC down like this. They was stuck in the long-form mode with the show running, and they was putting the on-air graphic overlaying on the show, saying that they had Technical Difficulties. Their MAX system has been sketchy, but I have noticed that during long-form during the Local on the 8's animation, sometimes the LDL will run another one on top of it. And they are just running TWC ads where you would see Local on the 8's during longform. They even had the Local Now and Weatherscan platform down for a period of time.
-
Still no LOT8s. :(

This is nothing* compared to what happened the night of January 21, 2008.
* YMMV on this. A ransomware attack is very large indeed, but the incident that happened 11 years ago is very much comparable in that systems were knocked out, but also possibly larger due to the fact that electrical damage occurred, and they were actually completely off the air (black screens and emergency feed).

today, LOT8s returned, sort of, instead of the normal LOT8s, instead it`s a radar loop with the LOT8s music playing
edit: i meant the national satellite version of LOT8s, it seems the cable LOT8s are back to normal.
-
Looks like radar data has returned. STARs are slowly getting the data back, I see Weatherscan’s loaded about an hour of radar/satellite data.
-
the satellite national LOT8s is back to normal and DirecTV's LOT8s feature that pops up over the National LOT8s is cueing up again.
