Any thoughts on when us Dish Network subs will be able to see a customized version of WOT8's like the cable subs?
Just wondering.

The plan is for "Regional Satellite" when TWC goes HD in 2008. It wont be as local as us cable viewers,
but it will be in the same region as the subscriber.

You must've, because i clearly read that they were going to make Satellite LFs more local/regional. its not going to be totally
local, it will be regional. I assume like Midwest, Northeast, Southeast, etc.

I'm glad to hear that we may have an option soon with this. It is probably the ONLY thing I miss when I switched from Cable to Dish. Other than that, GOODBYE to CHARTER forever! :)

I agree. If this feature does become a reality I'll be giving serious thought to switching to Dish from Comcast. The price of cable is outrageous, and the only reason I have kept cable as long as I have is for the benefit of the Local Forecast.

I agree. I wouldn't want to lose the LF. Sure, I can get it from the internet or the newspaper, but on TWC,
its all compiled for me and everything, and airing on the 8s.

As far as I know, So far, DirecTV is the only one who is definitely going to cary the service. I imagine
others would too.

NO, you've got it backwards. Dish is the only company supposedly carrying this service so far.

You sure? I'm positive that DirecTV is the only one carring TWC HD as of this moment.

I was talking about DISH....however, they are so competitive with each other THAT whatever one does, the other isn't far behind.

Actually WXCANADAMAN, Dish has promised to have their little "I" pop up on the Weather Channel Station (#214 in my market)...when you click a button on your remote, it will show you YOUR version of "Local On The 8's"....
The Channel 101 deal is there, but only for the closest NWS station...which for some of us isn't quite good enough.

Yes, I am aware of that. How ever this is also, (key word, also) an applet running on channel 100, go to News > Then select "TWC Weather" It will take you to channel 214 (It's 214 nationwide) with the applet loaded.. Its not your LOT8s but it is still local information at your fingertips, you can also set upwards to 5 favorite locations of your choosing.
I have some screen shots of the LOT8s iTV testing.. Ill see if I can post them or not.
