According to Mike Bettes' Facebook, the Tornado Hunt is suspended because of lack of Severe Weather.
Now, watch a huge tornado outbreak occur in a few weeks.  People need to let go of the fact that severe weather only comes in a defined season.  It can happen anytime during the year.

So they chase for a week then take a week off?
Does then mean the hunt will be 5 weeks since this week they did nothing but tape segments for TWC in OK and TX?
Lack of severe weather? There was severe weather all day today in Texas and more on Friday.

According to Kelly Cass the Tornado Hunt team is going back home.
So it's not like they are stopping for a few days then chasing again.

There's nothing to chase anyways for now. So... why waste money for nothing?

So... spending hundreds of dollars+ is worth chasing one POSSIBLE tornado? They want outbreaks... which are nowhere in the future. A tornado warning could be issued there, and a tornado warning could be issued in Kansas at the same time, neither actually producing a tornado. So...

I'm not saying they were wrong to suspend the hunt, just noting that there is severe weather.
TWC even pre-empted taped programming since around 9pm to cover the severe Texas storms.

Ah, okay. My appologies. I thought you were meaning there was a storm they could be chasing, which in reality, they could. Just not enough severe weather. It's May... I figured we'd be in the thick of things right now. Slightly depressing, but I try and remember that at least people aren't losing their life or property. Nice, scenic tornadoes out in the fields with good sized storms in the cities would be nice right now. <_<

According to Mike Bettes' Facebook and Twitter:

"One more day in NYC then a quick trip home, then off to The Plains to resume @tornadohunt Saturday."

Yeah, they're headed to Kansas/Nebraska for potential severe weather. The system will move east into my area of NE Kansas on Saturday night and Sunday.

We would rather have that than last year when Mike Bettus experienced first hand a tornado tragedy in Joplin, Missouri. I agree, though, I can't stand weather patterns that aren't conducive to severe weather and thunderstorms.

There's not much chasing going on for the next couple of days.
"@DDwx: The #TornadoHunt crew is here in Joplin MO for the next few days in coverage of the 1 yr remembrance of the May 22, 2011 EF-5 tornado."

They are not chasing today hrough at least mid week.
If I'm correct they are not adding an extra week to make up for the week off. So there are two weeks left in the Tornado Hunt.
