Well, I think TWC has had plenty of viewer feedback from their viewers that have said they would rather be able to tune in and see a live weather broadcast instead of Prospectors or whatever show might be on. They've definitely  had more than ample opportunity to change things and cut back on the shows, and they haven't, so that is what they get for having so much longform programming IMO.  Who knows , if more people start tuning to WN than TWC, then maybe that will persuade TWC to change things, I mean it would be wise for them to change their programming in a attempt to compete with WN... but I kind of doubt it.. They'd rather just sit and be annoyed about it than to do something about it, and then they'd probably just try to add more longform in the end..

Looks like Charter, Comcast, Time Warner, Buckeye, COX, Conway, Wheco Cable and Suddenlink carry WeatherNation already in select markets, according to their "About Us" page http://www.weathernationtv.com/#about_us

Did the XL have a "wintry mix to rain" icon? For some reason I faintly remember seeing one on air but don't have the icon and don't see footage of it anywhere...

I don't think so. Just a rain to snow and snow to rain.

Yes it does. Well, it just uses the "Wintry Mix" icon with a different label. I think any forecast condition involving wintry mix used that one icon. You'll see it used in two different ways in the clips below. The "wintry Mix to rain"  is used in the first clip below in The Week Ahead and the second video shows "Wintry Mix & Wind" with the same icon on the daypart forecast

Forgot to mention, I saw A Black screen with the words "No Video Input" with a countdown clock and a brief view of a WeatherStar XL CC Screen. I am really Confused! I need to sit down.

Hmm. you saw my video of the XL having a major issue the other week..

That was a interesting LF.. started out with the prod music for a few seconds, and then went to a different song for a few seconds and then changed again..

I don't know what is up with the XL in my area. It has been looping the LF for nearly a hour and a half, with the exception of a few quick breaks where the live feed returned for a minute and then it resumed looping.  And then  a while later, it did some crazy flickering on screen that I had never seen before.
XL says "Screw Longform, I'm gonna show you the LF for a while and then be a strobe light! "

I used to live in Cross City, FL and our cable head end at an XL. I'm curious to know what people with the XL are seeing? Do you guys see the new look of the locals or the old XL look?

Anybody that didn't have the IS is still seeing their legacy STAR.

Right, I was sort of disappointed when I was still seeing the XL this morning, when I was told on Oct 15 by Mediacom's area director that they had already submitted the order for new units.  Maybe they just haven't got everything set up yet, so I will be patient.
The XL in my area has had some issues with losing the feed and causing it to loop continuously this morning, so who knows.
Wish I knew someone in my area that had Consolidated Communications, since it uses a IS..

So...does anyone have any insight to the changes to the Local on the 8's next month? It sort of sounds like it's going to have a new name--Weather All the Time. There's a strong emphasis on simplicity with this new debut, as well. I haven't bothered to sign up on weather.com for a preview, but maybe somebody on here knows what we can expect and can share with us.
