As of about an hour ago, my areas IS2jr updated to the current gfx set

Can you upload a video of it please?

Here's the clip I just uploaded of the IS2jr

I'll still miss the XL though.

My cable company is currently in the process of upgrading to an all-digital signal, years behind some of the bigger players in the cable TV field.  And there are plenty of cable companies smaller than mine that are lucky to still exist, basically.
In my area, Mediacom is in the process of completing their transition to all-digital as well

As of right now, my XL is still running. Just saw the LF. So we will see what happens later on..

My XL is still downloading data as of 12:23PM Pacific Time with the analog feed... lets hope it stays this way...

Now I'm starting to question the validity of this entire thread.

XL is still on and running the local forecast here..

When it flickers the pink and black, it's usually due to feed-related issues. When the star loses the live feed signal, it will cause a 2min L flavor to continuously loop until the feed is back.
Probably looked something like this (audio during locals was inserted, normally there would be silence):

Sent a email to Mediacom's Area director.  His response was: The next major upgrade for TWC equipment at our area headend is scheduled for April and it will include the localized LDL.

You'd still think that they would have updated the graphics to the new ones that they came out with in November because I remember somewhere that they were going to have the same icons everywhere in order to have brand recognition across all platforms.

Oh well, I don't really care that much for the new icons anyways

Mattoon Intellistar on consolidated communications

And yes, I still have the XL on Mediacom. I was at a friends house who had a different provider (Consolidated Communications), which has a IS on their system

I don't remember the music used during Katrina. Was the music as intense as the storm coverage song they are using since the graphics change?

After hearing the current storm alert theme in Victor's earlier post, I think it's really weak and lacking depth.  I don't hear a lot of true panic and urgency.  I linked a video here that someone recorded of the storm alert music that debuted during Katrina just before his area was actually hit.  The forecast speaks for itself.  You can see what was done in 2005 to compare to today's graphics, and the song is entitled "Eye of the Storm" by Stephen Arnold Music.  In my opinion, this song began the whole phenomena of "Storm Alert" to where even the general public recognize it today.

Really miss hearing the old storm alert on TWC! A few years ago, I actually made a mp3 clip using the first 5 seconds of it for weather alerts/notifications on my phone..

It does seem to be a rather janky update. Like I mentioned on Alex's FB, maybe some of the problem has to do with the 60 second local and the IS is having a difficult time trying to handle everything that it needs to do in such a short amount of time (loading the screen, estimating the narration time on text based before it decides if it has time to show the next text screen and/or daypart, or if it should just skip directly to the ext. forecast.)
It's just a thought.. I don't really know much about the intellistar's system build, but the IS is now over 10 years old isn't it?
