Programming / Re: Favorite classic slogan
« on: July 10, 2010, 02:32:21 PM »
Sorry for bringing up an old topic, but I have to say my favorite classic slogan is "You Need Us For Everything You Do". That was the first one I ever saw. There were also some big weather events during this period, such as the Saragosa, Texas tornado (May 1987), the 1988 drought, Hurricane Gilbert (September 1988), Hurricane Hugo (September 1989), the cold wave of December 1989 and playlists of beautiful music. "Weather You Can Always Turn To" a close second.

I know he retired from TWC in 1996. Late 90s sounds about right.

I Like Vivian Brown Because...She Been At The Weather Channel Since She Joined The Cable Network In 1988.
I like her too, for the same reason.  She's been on since I've been watching on a regular basis.

Declan Cannon is now a forecaster at the National Weather Service office in Duluth, Minnesota.

Programming / Re: When was TWC's best year?
« on: June 26, 2010, 02:49:23 PM »
1986 until 2001. During that 15-year period, though, if I could give a single year, I'd say 1989 was my favorite, simply because it was my first, almost full year of watching The Weather Channel. 1990 was technically my first full year of watching The Weather Channel.

OCMs & Personalities / Re: What Happened to Eboni Deon?
« on: June 26, 2010, 02:40:01 PM »
Sometimes, at least it seems to me, that OCMs, like in this case, Eboni Deon, left TWC, but we forget about them and don't even notice they have left.

Questions, Comments, Suggestions / No subforum for WeatherStars?
« on: June 22, 2010, 06:38:37 PM »
On these boards, why isn't there a subforum for talking about WeatherSTARs? Any STAR from the I to the IntelliStar? Does that go under "Local Forecast"?

How would I clear my browser?
Haven't you asked that before? Write it down this time. IIRC, you use IE.

- Go to the Tools menu.
- Click on Internet Options,
- Click the Delete button.
- Click the Delete files, Delete cookies, and Delete history buttons.
- Click Yes after each one
- Close your browser and open it again
It worked! Thank you, so much, Matt.

Father's Day cards, a birthday card and stationary for a letter that I plan to write a friend who is doing a summer camp.
