I have a few from July 7th, 1989.

My college football team, the Alabama Crimson Tide had an ugly win yesterday over the Arkansas Razorbacks, 24-20 come from behind.

I thought it was amazing! :P
I love the banner b/c we should never, ever forget that day. Though it was 9 years ago, in another way it seems like it was just yesterday. Sad day.

Cable systems across the nation didn't use the weatherstar 3/3000 back in the late 80s. The IntelliStar was technoligically available back then.

They have too many shows that are not live weather reporting and updates. At least during Atmospheres which debuted 10 years ago this month, they had periodic weather updates. They have none of that now. Sometimes, they do during severe weather outbreaks, but not even always during those times. <_<

I have had  a thunderstorm nearly every day since Saturday, July 24th. So, that maketh me happy.  And, they will continue because I am about to go to Florida to visit my grandparents in the southwestern portion of the state. This is why I love summer.

Tibits I caught of Cheryl during the 1 hour newscast this morning.  :)

Cheryl Lemke on WXIA-TV NBC (11 Alive) In Atlanta

Thank you so much for posting that. I am glad that Cheryl Lemke is still in the meterological profession, though I wish she was still at TWC.

OCMs & Personalities / Re: New OCM- Bryan Norcross
« on: August 05, 2010, 09:49:11 PM »
I saw him tonight, he was on. I know him best for talking South Florida through Hurricane Andrew in 1992. He, along with the news and sports anchors were in a safe room off the studio, at WTVJ, channel 4, the nbc affiliate in Miami at that time. I like him.  He said, "friends, here is what I want you to do: go get mattresses and bring them to your safe room and after you get there, stay there." He said something like that.

He's a good hurricane specialist. The next John Hope, maybe?

I find it a little funny you say that because it seems like they are trying to make Dr. Knabb and Bryan Norcross the next Steve Lyons and John Hope.
You mean they are trying to make Dr. Rick Knabb the next Dr. Steve Lyons and Bryan Norcross the next John Hope?
