WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Major Timing issue
« on: December 14, 2013, 09:12:11 PM »
For every Local Forecast, I'm seeing the entire satellite forecast.  Then about two minutes later, the STAR presentation begins (interrupting whatever programming is on at the time).  It's been out of synch before (usually by 30 seconds or so), but it has never been this bad.
Thanks in advance.   B)

TWC and your Cable Company / Interrupted forecasts?
« on: June 12, 2011, 05:51:34 PM »
Did a search and couldn't find anything (SIAP).  Actually, I'm not 100% sure where to post this.

Am I the only one who's having his LFs interrupted by commercials?  It doesn't happen every time, but when it does, the CC screen shows as normal.  All of a sudden, a commercial comes on.  It shows two commercials, then goes back to the LF for the 36 hour forecast.

This is without a doubt Comcast's doing, because A.) TWC would never do anything like this, and B.) The first commercial is always one for Xfinity, with the second usually being a local commercial.

It's irritating.

General Discussion / Observation in GEICO commercial
« on: December 26, 2010, 09:22:40 PM »
I just want to make sure I'm not losing my mind here.

It's the one GEICO commercial that's a spoof of "Antiques Roadshow" (A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush).  Has anybody noticed the sign hanging on the wall in the background that says "the traveling appraiser?"  The font is different, but the white lettering in the blue box...

Am I the only one who thinks it looks like the TWC logo?

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Timing issues
« on: November 24, 2010, 08:51:52 PM »
IntelliSTAR 21805 has been a little off lately.  For the past several days, it has been late to start (I'll see about 5 seconds of the satellite forecast before the STAR kicks in and does its thing).  Today, it was starting early, while the audio was still saying "And now your local forecast" (and thus, finishing early, so now I'm seeing a few seconds of the satellite forecast at the end).

Thanks.

General Discussion / Cool It
« on: November 14, 2010, 03:25:19 PM »
Has anybody seen this movie?  It's based on a book of the same title.

Bjorn Lomborg believes in man made global warming, but he also believes that the doomsday scenarios ("An Inconvenient Truth," "The Day After Tomorrow" et al), and many of the proposed "solutions" (CFL light bulbs) are pure BS.

It's only in a few select cities right now.

I (and many experts in the field) don't believe in man-made global warming, but this is thought-provoking.  I'll probably check it out once it hits DVD.
