Sorry for double-posting, but there was a 60-second flavor at :28    I think WCL may be the new WUWA   

Well I'm not surprised, guess we can say the K flavors are history too This will no doubt mark the death of the Local on the 8s, slowly but surely.

Not only the K Flavors, but also the long-lived 2-minute flavors.

Notice, jazz pianist Dave Brubeck who played the song "Take Five", heard during Local on the 8s in August 2009, and December 2010 passed away today. RIP Dave (1920-2012)

If you watch "Local on the 8s" on the IntelliStar, you notice "weather.com" didn't display underneath the logo (even when the ad-crawl overlap) on the blue LDL.

Notice, no 90-second forecast or 2-minute Local Forecast due to program changes by The Weather Channel today. After the live segment, 1-minute local forecast is played just before the commercial breaks. Normally the local on the 8s shown at 8s of every hour after commercials.

The word phrase "Snowfall around one inch" is narrated as "About one inch of snow expected", like the word phrase shown on the IntelliStar.

Recently I've heard The Vocal Local narration uses "Winds could occasionally gust over 40/50/60 mph. early/late" and now he said "Winds could occasionally gust over 70 mph. early". That's because of Hurricane Sandy threatening New York City.

There was a problem withthe text based forecast on my IntelliStar, (may have been a HiRAD outage) the narration said "our local forecast", the weather animation the right side was missing on all 3 slides for today, tonight, and Friday and the weather information under each daypart for example was one sentence.

Sunny skies.

Same thing happened in my Central Park with an incomplete Local Forecast.

Since because of the 90-second flavors started airing May 22, 2012 at :28 and :58 each hour during Day Planner, and Weather Center Live, the 3-Day Extended Forecast is shown on WeatherStar XL, and because of the 60 second forecast aired at :08/:38 each hour, the 7-Day Forecast is once again shown on the XL during Day Planner and Weather Center Live.

Last Tuesday, new weather icons debuted on weather.com, but the weather icons still use the 2010-Present ones during Live Programming and the SD IntelliStar.
