Day two of the TWC technical difficulties and the local LDL has been pulled, National LDL has lost all data and TWC is still in the IBM studio with limited use of the Lab.

It’s been reported that the attack on TWC was ransomware, so it might be a while until TWC is back up and running.

It seems that TWC is changing the name for “Weather Center Live” to “The Weather Channel Live” according to multiple TV guide listings. While it could be a mistake, I found it interesting that they actually have a photo for it on the Spectrum TV guide app. Could this actually be real? We will see what lies for the fate of Weather Center Live on Monday.

I’m honestly dissatisfied with this change. I feel it could have been executed in a better way. I’ve left a post over at weloveweather.tv, since they have an official thread for discussion of the change. https://www.weloveweather.tv/community/discussion/local-on-the-8s-are-being-reimagined/

EDIT: The Weather Channel is asking for all viewers who would like to provide feedback use We Love Weather’s forums. They started tweeting the link to people who are giving them feedback.

The whole television division is still owned by NBCUniversal, Bain Capital and Blackstone. They just renamed the whole company to Weather Group Television, LLC after the sale of TWC's digital division to IBM, and thus Weatherscan reflects those changes.
