Everything Else TWC / Chris Hoitsma gone?
« on: November 24, 2008, 10:50:35 PM »
Does anyone know if Chris Hoitsma is still with TWC? I am looking at TWC's press site and his contact information, which was at one time there, no longer is. I'm wondering if maybe he got canned too.

« on: November 24, 2008, 08:00:48 PM »
Mike Seidel appeared on MSNBC this morning. He talked with the MSNBC anchor. The graphics had TWC logos and a special TWC intro with a "windshield wiper" theme.

Everything Else TWC / Jim Cantore to fill in for Al Roker on Friday
« on: November 24, 2008, 07:21:14 PM »
My source just told me that he got a call from Jim Cantore who told him that he will be filling in for Al Roker this Friday on the Today show!

My source says that Jim was very stoked about having the opportunity to fill in for Roker.

And, we're also seeing, for the first time, TWC staff anchoring on NBC.

OCMs & Personalities / OCM (and artist) Privacy
« on: November 23, 2008, 08:07:03 PM »
I thought I had a rule about this posted here, but I do not, so now I will post one.

In the interest of respecting TWC's OCM's and artists no personal information is to be posted here. Examples of personal information are:

-E-Mail Address(es)
-Street Address(es)
-Telephone Number(s) (Landline or cell phone, no distinction)

Those are just a few specific examples. I think the best way to tell if you might be posting something personal is that if you feel it may be, it probably is. If you aren't sure, ask an admin. If you get the green light to post it, then feel free to do so. Posting against an admin's wishes will result in an immediate banning. If you post something questionable without asking and it turns out to be removed you will be warned. Only post information (like articles) that come from a reliable and verifiable source.

The bottom line here is that TWC is kind enough to allow our site, and sites like it, to continue operating. So we need to show TWC, it's employees, and its artists the respect they deserve. My own personal belief is that a person's personal information is their business and no one else's. So please, show respect for privacy. Thank you.

Programming and Graphics / TWC considering going off air on Christmas
« on: November 20, 2008, 10:03:10 AM »
According to a respected poster at EasternUSWx, and according to NewsBlues, TWC's financial situation is such that it is considering going taking live programming OFF THE AIR on Christmas Day, instead airing recorded programming the entire day, thereby saving alot of money in overtime pay.

Local Forecast / Classic Artists on MySpace
« on: November 20, 2008, 09:54:37 AM »
someone came up with this idea for current TWC artists, so I thought I'd adapt it for classic TWC artists. If you know of any classic TWC artist who has a MySpace, post it here!  B)

Local Forecast / For the LF Music Gurus
« on: November 19, 2008, 11:36:42 PM »
Found something interesting that I thought I'd post for the heck of it. Seems some blogger heard a tune he liked on TWC and is trying to ID it:

http://nothingelsebettertodothanreadthis.blogspot.com/2008/11/jammin-to-weather-channel.html

Granted he doesn't offer much of a description, but I figured one of you guys might be able to figure it out. He DOES narrow it down some, though, by saying its a guitar song.

Everything Else TWC / TWC Lays off Staff
« on: November 19, 2008, 06:41:25 PM »
According to the following article from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution TWC has laid off some of its employees. The article says it is not known how many or who was laid off.

I didn't see this coming!

TWC Today News / Need a slogan
« on: November 17, 2008, 03:22:39 PM »
Ok, now that we've got the site design fiasco figured out (for the most part) I need everyone's ideas for a slogan. This time, I'm not putting the matter to a vote. I'll select the one I like the best. Originality and creativity are musts. I will not recycle another site's slogans.

There is no time limit. When I find a slogan I like, that will be it.

Questions, Comments, Suggestions / Suggestions for the new TWCT
« on: November 07, 2008, 06:23:15 PM »
As everyone knows TWCT will be relaunching next week, and as we do so I'd like to hear from you guys what you'd like to see on the site. No idea is stupid. And all ideas will be considered. I know you guys probably don't think I've given due consideration to all ideas in the past, but I always have. It's something I believe very strongly in.

So that said, let the ideas flow!

TWC Today News / A Rundown of what's to come
« on: November 07, 2008, 06:12:59 PM »
I thought I'd post a general rundown of what's going to be happening to TWCT next week, since you all might be wondering. And there's alot in store.

First, as you already know the site will be totally redesigned to celebrate TWCT's entrance into the classic TWC arena. Second, once the redesign is complete, I will begin adding classic content to the site. I will be adding a new page of classic clips, which will include just about every song used on TWC since the late 1980's. I will also be adding video pages for classic TWC videos. I will also be updating the TWC Today reference section with oodles of classic TWC information.

That's only the beginning! Now that I'm no longer forced to abide by an agreement with another site I can do as I wish. You can bet all sorts of cool stuff is to come!

That said, I am now taking suggestions for the new TWC Today. But I'm creating a seperate thread for those in the Suggestions board.

Everything Else TWC / Trammell or a striking resemblance?
« on: November 06, 2008, 09:31:32 PM »
I found an interesting video clip on Youtube earlier today. Its a commercial from 1996 for Rite Aid. It seems that the background tune sounds almost EXACTLY like Better Than Nothing by Trammell Starks. It's interesting because I had been having a memory of a commercial from about that time that had a background tune that sounded like Trammell, but I thought it was a Sprint commercial, not Rite Aid.

Anyway, take a listen for yourself:

Now, you have the best chance to listen in the first few seconds, as after that vocals come in as does a narrator. Does that not sound like Trammell?

News and Updates / PM Rules
« on: October 31, 2008, 10:31:36 PM »
Okay, things are obviously getting out of control already (and I have in mind the culprits). So, from now on, DO NOT PM Martin or Brian with emulator problems. If you do they will tell me and you'll be banned from here. Problems are to be reported ONLY ONCE and here on the forum, not via PM. I can say with confidence that Martin and Brian do not feel like being bombarded by countless PM's.

Second, you all have used emulators before (think 4000). So let's act like it. You know that if the emulator shows the Incomplete Data message the reason is that it could not obtain the necessary information from the NWS. We needn't bombard Martin and Brain about that, now do we? Bottom line, think before you post. Your not babies, and you won't be treated as such.
