Official press release from TWC is out http://weathergroup.com/newsroom/2018/03/22/byron-allen-s-entertainment-studios-acquires-weather-channel
I'm curious what this new company will do with the station considering that TWC hasn't been doing so well in recent years under NBC.
here we FI'm shocked Weather Underground was canceled tonighting go again, this time, i expect Irma to force The Weather Channel to go wall-to wall for the next several days with hurricane coverage and the return of Black mode when it gets closer to Florida.
pray for everyone that will be impacted by Irma
From USA Today
"Weather Channel wants you to keep your head in the clouds on Election Day"QuoteThe station hopes to draw Americans away from yammering political pundits and potentially terrifying election results by broadcasting a nine-hour marathon of "the most beautiful, awe-inspiring, and calming weather video and scenery ever caught on tape," it said in a press release Tuesday.

This should be ... interesting.
Just thought I'd pitch in with a discovery I've just found using the LocalNow app. What's Sideloading? I installed mine though Google Play
Turns out if you do the sideloading method to install the app (It's not available in the UK for obvious reasons) and run your web traffic through a US proxy you can access and watch all of the LocalNow feeds. I'm currently watching severe weather coverage through Greensboro's feed.
I suppose it's the closest I'll get to watching TWC live
Do you know if a logo change is coming? Also when will TWC cut down the longform hours?if it's indeed an account created by TWC just to let normal viewers know of any programming changes brought on by severe weather, then this would be a great use of Twitter to warn viewers of a programming change
also if it is a Weather Channel official account (and if so it will get "Verified" check symbol on it's twitter page), then the logo looking weird and not right could be a hint of an impending logo change.
the current logo is now 10 and a half years old as it debut in the August 2005 relaunch of TWC and been the logo since then despite minor changes which are logo color changes.
plus i would mind it being the "Updated 2016" logo as they were due up for it anyway.
I can guarantee that's not a logo change. It's a fan made account with a logo made with the Calibri font with what looks like MSPaint. That's not to say it's not a good service but TWC isn't behind it.
Sam Champion will be back on ABC's Good Morning America filling-in for a couple of days. I wonder when will his TWC primetime show will debut but I predict that Sam will be gone from TWC by the end of this year.

Anyone else not looking forward to "Dead of Winter: The Donnor Party"? Looks like a movie to me.....Not good TWC!!!!!! Hopefully we'll hear of more live hours soon! I have a couple of new OCMs over the last week so I hope that's a good sign.
Sadly, there's more reality shows to come before they restore live weather hours. Hopefully, this will be the last seasons for these shows:
