The WeatherNation stream is back up at http://www.filmon.com/#WeatherNation

The stream is now high def, but it could use some work, could it not?

Anyways, I started this topic for those who want to discuss WN.

Good god...

Please do not move the camera around so much when you do these clips.

As for the STAR ID being on the wrong channel, they can fix that since they had to when certain stars lost their ID and had a . instead.

Did you use MSPaint? What happened to trying to master GIMP?

I'll have to say, this is the best work I have done thus far....
This took me about 3 days to complete, and now here it is!!

Very nicely done.

Well guys, welcome to YouTube fame. Getting your videos copied off of YouTube is part of the YouTube fame fortune- Don't like it? Then take your talent elseware. You videos being stolen presents a good thing....

Why do I say that? Because it means they're wannabes, they want to have the same talent or same content as you. They're jelly of you! (jelly=jealous)That's my take on it if someone were to steal my vids.

If they pass it off as their own, then that's where it stops and you simply just DCMA that sucker. YouTube can do remove it if you do a DCMA report correctly.

Of course watermarking works too.

Well one things for sure- On the XL, they can redo the LDL at least, there's no excuse for not having one. After all there is times when they don't cue the squeezeback. That isn't much to ask.

As for the 4000 LDL, you're right on that, but it doesn't mean they could just move that today/tomorrow config to all stars, then again it would either be not possible or it would be a great pain, it's really old hardware, so that's understandable.

The XL can have alot more hope though, but the juniors and 4000s, they are just simply SOL.

LOL! I heard about the Hot Jobs segment, Mike mentioned it on his Facebook and it had a photo of him.

So now I know when they have that segment...

Also, at what you said-  :rofl2:

If you want to see what WeatherNation looks like....check it out.

http://www.filmon.com/#WeatherNation

It's a service that lets you watch TV online, and they happen to carry WeatherNation. I don't care for their OCMs...

Well, I really like the concept. Good news though, according to their Facebook page, WeatherNation is a free broadcast (over satellite).

If they were to do some graphics work (enlarge fonts which is desperately needed, add more cities to maps, etc.), change some content (like the music), then they can make it. I mean FFS, even Jeremy Leford's Visual Basic programming produced a better national forecast!

If they can make the adjustments, then maybe, just maybe, they can make it, and that would be a good thing for the viewer if it does.

Also some additional OCM training couldn't hurt either. Once that's done, it would be all good.

They want people to contact their cable provider and ask for WN, however, unless they can offer a solution for local forecasting (like the intellistar), thats unlikely a cable provider would choose that even if the feed is free.

The XL can go beyond what it's doing right now,  :censored: , it can even handle 3D very well! (I've seen the SGI O2 and 3D graphics)

It's just STAR team and their lazyness. The XL can damn well produce a squeezeback, and if there isn't enough HD space, then they can at least either modify the LDL to work with today's shows, since if it can support transparency, then end of discussion. Speaking of which, Brian should try a squeezeback design.

As for the 4000s and Juniors, they are at their full capabilities. However, they can at least cue an LDL during squeezeback time.

When is this not the case for anyone?  Murphy's Law.  :)

I broke that law, I always prepare before I record, that way when time comes, I can be ready.

Fall River, MA IntelliSTAR - ID = (.)

http://www.filedropper.com/lat48nbfrlf1

The . ID you need to let STAR team know about. Even the XL in Big Bear did that, but they can fix it.
Speaking of which, I need to tell them to fix the ID here, it's channel 46, not 39.

A video camera recording was all I was able to do as I don't have a tuner... but the quality isn't really too bad for a camera recording IMO. B)

Unfortunately I was unable to capture the Station ID as my camera decided to be a  :censored: and started having problems right before the LF. Fortunately it was a simple setting I had to fix so I was able to start recording before the LF started. :) Also, from 1:22 to 1:24 in the video I cut out the audio because I accidentally knocked over something off camera that made a noise, so I just decided to cut that part out.

I've attached the video...

Very nice since usually if you film an SDTV, you would get these black lines.
